Delhi Technological University (DTU), Previously known as Delhi College of Engineering, was the first engineering college in Delhi. It was established by the Government of India as a Delhi Polytechnic in 1941. The college was run by the government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi since 1963.It was affiliated with Delhi University from 1952 – 2009. Then, it became a state university and was renamed as Delhi Technological University. It offers various UG, PG, Executive and Doctoral Programs in Engineering and Management. DTU Admission for all courses is based on National Level Exams viz. CAT, JEE Main, or GATE.

Admission to the B.Tech. programs at DTU is made on the basis of marks scored by a candidate in Class XII or equivalent other qualifying examination and candidate’s performance in JEE Main.
Final selection to the program is based on the allocation of seats through Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA Counselling).
DTU offers 22 M.Tech. programs through its 9 departments. Applying candidate must have obtained Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology or equivalent with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate. Selection is made on the basis of GATE score obtained the candidate. M.Tech. programs at DTU are offered in a Full-time mode as well as in Part-time mode.

DTU offers MBA programs in 6 Specializations namely Marketing, Finance, Human Resource Management, Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, Knowledge, and Technology Management. Applying candidate must have obtained Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology or equivalent with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate. Selection of the programs is made on the basis of CAT Percentile obtained the candidate.
The university also offers MBA programs for executives and working professionals also called EMBA. The programs require the candidates to have a work experience of at least 3 Years to be eligible to apply for the EMBA program.

DTU offers the Ph.D. program for scholars with a master’s degree in Engineering/Technology/ Sciences/Management/Humanities with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate. Selection to the program is based on the candidate’s performance in a written test and interview conducted by the university. The written test will be comprised of 60 questions, each carrying 1 Mark. The test will cover questions from an entire spectrum of the department syllabus and will be about one and half hour (1½) in duration. The interview weight age of 40 marks. Merit list will be prepared on the basis of 100 marks.

Library: DTU library is a three-storied centrally air-conditioned spread over an area of 5000 Sq. meters. It also has a conference hall with capacity for 150 people and reading room for 300 people. It has a rich set of the books collection with almost 1,23,978 books in the main library, 52,700 in General book bank, 9,057 in SCP Book Bank and 2085 received through donation.
Health Services: It has fully fledged 20-bed hospital block. The Services of two medical practitioners are available to the students. It also invites special medical practitioners for ENT, eye, dental care, etc., once a week.
EDUSAT Studio: DTU is one of the AICTE EDUSAT Base network center where expert’s lectures and programs related to engineering, science etc. are conducted.
