Ques. What is the eligibility for DTU M.Des Visual Communication?
Ans. Candidates must hold a 4-year bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Design, or Fine Arts with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwD). A valid CEED 2026 scorecard is required. Holders of a 5-year professional degree such as B.Arch are also eligible. After qualifying CEED, shortlisted candidates must appear in the DTU Design Aptitude Test and Personal Interview on the DTU campus in New Delhi.
Ques. What subjects does DTU M.Des Visual Communication cover?
Ans. The DTU M.Des Visual Communication programme covers graphic design, typography, branding and identity design, print and digital media communication, packaging design, and communication strategy. Studio projects, design briefs, and industry collaborations form a core part of the curriculum. In the second year, students undertake a major dissertation or design thesis with a focus on a specific area within visual and communication design.
Ques. How does the admission process work for DTU M.Des Visual Communication after CEED?
Ans. After the CEED 2026 result (declared 4 March 2026), candidates register on the DTU admission portal at saarthi.dtu.ac.in. Shortlisted applicants are called for the DTU Design Aptitude Test and Personal Interview at the campus. The final merit is a combination of the CEED score, aptitude test result, and interview performance. For the 2026-27 cycle, remaining vacant seats are being filled through a spot round on 24 July 2026.

Ans. DTU M.Des Visual Communication has an intake of 15 seats per academic year. The total intake across all five M.Des specialisations at DTU is 75 seats. The five specialisations offered are Lifestyle and Accessory Design, Interaction Design, Product Design, Transportation and Service Design, and Visual Communication. Selection in all five is based on CEED score, Design Aptitude Test, and Personal Interview at DTU campus.
