Should I opt for DTU mechanical or IIIT Delhi CSE?

The choice depends on what matters the most to you. If placements, faculty and research opportunities are your top most priority, choose IIIT Delhi CSE. In this respect, IIITD CSE beats DTU Mechanical by a large margin. But if you want the best of campus, college environment, cultural fests and brand name, DTU Mechanical is a much better choice. I would personally recommend IIIT Delhi, as it offers top notch placements. But if you’re truly passionate about Mechanical, choose that branch. Do not take your interest for granted while choosing your branch/degree.

Are courses in DTU and NSIT flexible? Can students from lower branches study a minor in C.S. easily?

As an NSUT student, the new CBCS (choice based credit system) allows you to choose your fields of study. This makes for more flexible courses. Also, NSUT has an excellent coding environment which will help you for your minor in Computer Science. Many students over there pursue coding, despite being from a branch other than IT/COE. In DTU, you will have electives starting from 5th semester.These are department and general electives. IIIT Delhi offers the most flexible courses. Other than some fixed category credits, all the subjects are choice based. Thus, in terms of providing flexible courses, this is the order of preference- IIITD> NSUT>DTU.

Is JEE Advanced required for DTU B.Tech admission?

No. DTU only accepts JEE Main Paper-I scores. It is a state university, not an IIT or NIT. Admission is through JAC Delhi counselling, not JoSAA. JEE Advanced is not needed or accepted at DTU.

Yes. 85% of B.Tech seats at DTU are reserved for candidates who completed Class 11 and 12 from a school in NCT of Delhi. The remaining 15% are open to candidates from outside Delhi. Delhi Region candidates benefit from significantly lower cutoffs.

What is the B.Tech fee at DTU per year?

The tuition fee for B.Tech at DTU is approximately INR 2,36,700 per year. At the time of seat acceptance through JAC Delhi, candidates pay INR 95,000 as the seat acceptance fee, with the balance due at the institute. The hostel fee is separate and optional.

What exams does DTU accept for MBA admission?

DTU DSM (Delhi School of Management) accepts CAT 2025 and MAT (September/December 2025 or February/May 2026 sessions) for MBA. Applications go through the CMAC portal at cmacadmissions.com. What is the minimum GATE score for M.Tech at DTU?

Can final-year students apply for DTU B.Tech admission?

Yes. Students appearing in Class 12 in 2026 can register for JAC Delhi counselling. However, admission is confirmed only after the candidate submits proof of meeting the 60% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in Class 12 at the time of document verification.

How many rounds of JAC Delhi counselling are held for DTU B.Tech?

JAC Delhi 2026 conducts 4 regular rounds followed by 1 upgradation round. Each round releases seat allotment results, after which candidates must pay the seat acceptance fee and report physically. No fresh registration is allowed after June 28, 2026. Candidates who do not report in one round can still participate in the next round if they have kept their choices active.

Does DTU accept CUET scores for any programme?

Ques. What is the difference between M.Tech Research and regular M.Tech at DTU?

Ans. M.Tech Research at DTU is a thesis-based programme focused on independent investigation and original research in a chosen engineering discipline, while regular M.Tech is coursework-intensive with structured subjects and semester examinations. Research-mode students spend most of their time in the laboratory under a faculty supervisor, producing a thesis. Both are 2-year full-time programmes with the same fee of INR 2,50,000.
