Chaudhary Devi Lal University (CDLU) is a state university located at Sirsa, Haryana, named after Chaudhary Devi Lal, the former Deputy Prime Minister of India. It was established by the Government of Haryana on 5 April 2003. It has 16 teaching departments with 40 courses. There are 44 Colleges in Sirsa and Fatehabad districts and 1 in Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya have been affiliated to the University. The university offers courses at UG and PG level in multiple specializations. CDLU Admission is done on the basis of marks obtained in last qualifying examination. Admission in M.Tech and MBA is done on the basis of marks scored in GATE and CMAT.

The university provides the variety of UG, PG and doctoral courses in various disciplines. The application form is available on the official website of university. Candidates are advised to check eligibility criteria before applying for any of the programs. The minimum requisite qualification for undergraduate programs is 10+2 in relevant discipline. Candidates seeking admission to postgraduate programs require a graduate degree in the relevant or allied discipline.
CDLU Admission to all courses is done on the basis of merit of last of last qualifying exams. Shortlisted candidates on the basis of their marks are considered for admission process. Applicants seeking admission to M.Tech program need to appear for GATE exam. While for MBA program, CMAT score is mandatory.
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a national level online test which is conducted annually by IISc Bangalore and 7 IITs on a rotational basis for admission to M.Tech/ Ph.D. and other Government Scholarships/Assistantships in the field of engineering and technology. Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) is conducted by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) each year. As per CMAT Eligibility, a candidate must possess a full-time Bachelor’s degree with 50% aggregate marks. CMAT Registration begins in the month of October. After the declaration of CMAT Result, the universities and Institutes will release their own cutoff. Applicants who obtain equal or more than CMAT Cut off marks are considered for admission process.
The university library is gigantic and has a collection of 41945 books, 101 journals, 18 magazine and 15 newspapers.
There are two hostels for the accommodation of male students and two hostels for the accommodation of female students. 800 (485 Girls and 315 Boys) students are Residing In the hostels the rooms in the hostels are nice and big and two people can occupy one room at a time.
Computer lab at the university is a really fine piece of work having as many as a hundred computers servicing it. The total number of laboratories is three and each and every one of these has internet facility. Teachers and students can access the internet at any given point within the working hours of the university.
