Entrance Preview :

I took IIIT-B internal examination for the admission. After I cleared the written test I was called for interview in Bangalore, Electronics City where I was suppose to present a topic of my own choice in front of a professor. I presented my topic and then professor asked me a few questions related to the topic. It was 45 mins interview. It went well and after a week I got a call that I was selected into the M.Tech program.

Placement Experience :

100% placement is there. Although, during my course of study, this was not as such. But in the next subsequent years, placement process was improved. There are ample number of job opportunities for students because a number of well-established and startup companies are called for employment opportunities.

Entrance Preview :

I gave college entrance examination. Then there was an interview which was followed by a presentation.

Admission :

I filled up the entrance examination form of the College. Exam was pretty easy. It was all about the analytic and problem solving skills. I was called for interview. They select 70% GATE students and I think 30% there college entrance exam based. Interview was more about judging your research interest.

College management do their work. There might be delays here and there depending on the work load, but the work usually gets done if it is feasible and if it is not, students are given an explanation as in why it is not done.

The management is good and is always responsive to the student needs. A lot of the things in the college is student run so there is less interaction of ordinary students with the management. Every thing is done through the SAC (Students Activity Committee).

Ques. Which among IIIT Bangalore (integrated M.Tech CSE) and CSE at PEC Chandigarh is better?

● Top Answer By Janvi Bhambri on 05 May 21

Ans. I have friends at both these institutes and based on what I have heard from them, I can vouch that the Integrated MTech CSE program offered by IIIT Bangalore is great. Here a few of the reasons why you should choose this institute for your int. Mtech.  Reputation: IIIT Bangalore is among the most reputed colleges not only in Bangalore but in the whole world.  Faculty: One of the major reasons for choosing the institute is the faculty base. You can check out the official website for the faculty profiles. Most of them have PhDs from top universities of the world like MIT, UC Barkley, IISc, IIT, etc. Most of the faculty members also have years of experience working in the industry and they can teach you according to the current industry needs. Research-Industry: If you are interested in doing research, there are many courses available through which you can publish your paper. This will help you in your research afterward. If you are interested to work in the industry, there are many courses offered by IIIT Bangalore which teaches about the problems and required solution in the current industry scenario. So after your course, you will be ready to join the industry. The project on which you will work at IIIT B holds weights.  Hostel: The hostels at IIIT B are amazing. It offers 24/7 water, power supply. There is also a stable internet connection available in the hostels.  Placements:  IIIT-B has had a 100% record of placement over the years. Students can complete an internship in their 10th semester in an enterprise or can complete a thesis if they are involved in science. It has a great alumni base recruited in the highest echelons of reputed MNCs.  Extra-curricular: IIIT B has a great coding culture. The performance of the students in various coding competitions, hackathons, and the GSoC selections are proof of that.  If you look at the record, you will find students of this institute doing internships at various reputed institutes and leading MNCs. You can also lookup the impressive publication record of the institute online. Overall IIIT B is a great choice for doing an integrated MTech CSE degree. Read more

Ques. Between IIIT Bangalore, MNNIT Allahabad, IIIT Allahabad, and VNIT Nagpur, which college should I choose for CS/IT engineering?

● Top Answer By Keshav Jindal on 29 Apr 21

Ans. Your preference order should be IIIT A > IIIT B > MNNIT > VNIT. IIIT A: IIIT A is one of the best in the country for IT courses. The campus and facilities are amazing. The culture of coding is great there. It is one of the top competitive coding locations online.  IIIT B: IIIT B is also a decent option, however, it ranks a little lower due to its small campus and college life. Also, the course is a dual degree program and quite new, for this reason, most people don’t opt for it. But it is a pretty good option if you are passionate about CS and want to do MTech in the future. The faculties are great. The course curriculum is updated with many elective options.  Both these two institutes teach core CS/IT subjects from the first year itself. If you are genuinely interested in CS/IT you can choose either of these two institutes.Read more

Ques. IIIT Bangalore iMtech in CSE or NIT Surathkal BTech in CSE, what should I choose?

● Top Answer By Anil Tigga on 13 Apr 21

Ans. Both are great institutions in terms of academics and in terms of placements too, but there are some major factors that make IIIT Bangalore better than NIT Surathkal. Hygiene at campus and hostel: Both the hostel and campus of IIIT Bangalore are very clean. As cleanliness is very much important for all of us the hostel and campus of IIIT Bangalore are well maintained which is not the case at NIT Surathkal. This is very important for all of us and cannot be neglected. Study Curriculum: The study curriculum of IIIT Bangalore is very much up to date and it has all the important topics and syllabus which is important in today's world and will be helpful for the students in their future.  Admission based on merit: The admissions at IIIT Bangalore are completely based on the student's merit and there is no influence of other factors like caste, gender, management quota, etc. Students get admission based on his/her JEE score. Good research and industry opportunities: This college provides good research facilities to its students and the prime location of this college also helps to get more focus and attention which plays a major role to get further opportunities to its students. But there are few demerits of the college too like -  Life at this college can be difficult which is similar to many colleges in our country, as the environment there is not that fancy like it is shown in our movies but one can get used to it after spending a few months. The college fest is not that great and interesting as compared to other colleges where the fests are organized in a grand way but this is slowly improving as both the students and the college are putting in efforts to make it better.Read more

Ques. Which is better, NIT Calicut for CSE or IIIT Bangalore for CSE?

● Top Answer By Sudeshna Bhar on 26 Mar 21

Ans. My brother has visited both institutes. So, I know a little bit about NIT Calicut and IIIT Bangalore. If you're talking about B. Tech in CSE, NITC is undoubtedly the best. NITC remains ahead in terms of ranking compared to IIITB. But this doesn't necessarily mean that IIITB is not a good college. IIITB is a pretty new college and has only been offering M. Tech in IT for a long time, and this is one of the reasons why it does not have much recognition among students.  IIITB does not have a B. Tech program, but recently it started offering a 5-year Integrated M. Tech program. Right now, the second batch is about to pass. The first batch has passed out with remarkable achievements. IIITB has been more of an M. Tech-focused institute since its start. The faculties are really good here. Placements: When it comes to placement IIITB gets the upper hand. Being situated in Bangalore, the college also attracts a lot of software companies. Infrastructure: In terms of infrastructure, NIT Calicut is way better than IIIT Bangalore. Academics:  IIITB focuses a lot on academics. The level of dedication and the hard work that both students and professors put in is commendable.  It has a coding culture much better than the NITC.  The senior-junior relationship in IIITB is great. Seniors put in a lot of time and effort into mentoring their own juniors, which you can never experience at NITC.  Also, the IIITBians won a lot of coding tournaments that had happened in Bangalore. So, go through the above-mentioned points and make your decision wisely.Read more

Ques. Should an iM.Tech in IIIT Banglore be preferred over a B.Tech in IT in IIIT Allahabad?

● Top Answer By Komal Chawla on 26 Mar 21

Ans. iMTech is an integrated course offered at IIIT Bangalore which includes a 5-year BTech+ MTech program. It is not possible to compare a 4-year BTech course with a 5-year Integrated MTech course. Particulars IIIT Bangalore IIIT Allahabad Course MTech. Integrated BTech. Total Fees 9.38 lacs General- 5.85 lacs SC/ST- 1.27 lacs Course duration 5 years 4 years Placement On campus On campus If you want to pursue MTech after BTech, iMTech at IIIT Bangalore is a great option as you will save a whole year. However, if you don’t want to pursue BTech, you should opt for IIIT Allahabad. The course curriculum and faculty at IIIT B are excellent. On the other hand, at IIITA students are quite frustrated with their faculty. Based on the above facts and the conversation I had with some of my friends and colleagues who are pass outs from IIITB and IIITA, I would advise you to choose IIIT Bangalore with closed eyes.Read more
