Nitte University Admission Dates 2026

Nitte University’s admission timelines are governed by multiple national and state-level entrance examinations, varying by programme. MBBS and BDS admissions run through NEET UG and Karnataka state counselling. B.Tech admissions follow KCET and JEE Main results. MBA admissions are based on CAT, MAT, and CMAT. Karnataka state medical counselling (NEET-based) is currently active for management quota rounds in September 2026.

Nitte University Courses and Fees

Nitte University Admission Process

Nitte University’s admission process is governed by multiple external bodies for regulated programmes. MBBS and BDS seats are split into government quota (allotted through KEA Karnataka based on NEET UG merit) and management quota (filled directly by the university based on NEET UG score and Nitte’s own criteria). B.Tech follows KCET for Karnataka-domicile students and JEE Main for non-Karnataka applicants.

MBBS and BDS Admission

Eligibility for MBBS requires 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology with at least 50% aggregate for General category (40% for SC/ST/OBC-NC) and a valid NEET UG score. Selection follows two routes:

• Government quota seats: Allotted through Karnataka KEA counselling based on NEET UG rank and Karnataka domicile, with fee regulated by state government
• Management quota seats: Applied directly to Nitte/KSHEMA with a valid NEET UG score. Management quota fee is INR 235.19 Lakhs for the full 5.5-year MBBS.

NEET UG closing rank for management quota MBBS at KSHEMA typically ranges between 60,000 and 1,50,000 for General category, reflecting the management-level accessibility. Government quota MBBS seats require a significantly higher NEET UG rank.

B.Tech Admission at NMAMIT and NMIT

B.Tech eligibility requires 10+2 with PCM and at least 45% aggregate. Karnataka-domicile students apply through KCET. Non-Karnataka students apply with JEE Main scores or directly through Nitte management quota. The KCET cutoff for CSE at NMAMIT has historically ranged from Category 1 rank 3,000 to 6,000 for Karnataka General category students. Management quota seats are available for students with lower ranks or from outside Karnataka.

MBA Admission

MBA eligibility requires graduation in any discipline with at least 50% aggregate. Selection involves a valid CAT, MAT, or CMAT score, followed by a group discussion and personal interview at the NITTE School of Management in Mangaluru. Work experience is advantageous but not mandatory.

MD/MS/MDS Admission

Postgraduate medical admissions are through NEET PG (MD/MS) and NEET MDS (Master of Dental Surgery), governed by the Karnataka KEA PG counselling for government quota seats and Nitte-direct for management quota seats.

Nitte University Placements

Engineering placements at Nitte are primarily driven by NMAMIT (Karkala) and NMIT (Bengaluru). NMAMIT placements 2024-25 reported a highest package of INR 59 LPA with 925 offers made from 288 companies. The average engineering package at NMAMIT ranges from INR 5 to 8 LPA, with top-tier CSE students commanding significantly higher packages from product companies.

Engineering recruiters at NMAMIT and NMIT include TCS, Samsung, Synopsys, VMware, Schneider Electric, Microsoft, Amazon, Nokia, IBM, and Walmart Labs. NMIT Bengaluru benefits from its Bengaluru location with stronger IT and product company access than the Karkala campus. MBA graduates from NITTE School of Management are placed in BFSI, FMCG, consulting, and logistics firms in the Karnataka and Goa region.

Medical and dental graduates at Nitte pursue postgraduate studies (NEET PG or NEET MDS), government hospital postings, private practice, or hospital group employment. KSHEMA’s affiliated 1,010-bed hospital provides internship rotations and employment exposure from early in the MBBS programme.

Nitte University vs Manipal Academy (MAHE) vs Yenepoya University

Aspirants targeting medical, dental, engineering, or pharmacy programmes in the Mangaluru-coastal Karnataka region frequently compare Nitte University with Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) and Yenepoya University. All three are private Deemed Universities in coastal Karnataka offering MBBS, BDS, B.Tech, and allied health programmes.

MAHE holds a decisive overall ranking advantage (NIRF #7 vs Nitte’s #80), but Nitte’s dental institution (ABSMIDS, NIRF #6) outranks Manipal College of Dental Sciences in the Dental category, a notable differentiator for BDS aspirants.
