UAS Dharwad Ph.D Seed Science & Technology: Fees 2026, Course Duration, Dates, Eligibility

Ans. Candidates must hold an M.Sc in Seed Science and Technology, Agronomy, or an allied agricultural science with a minimum OGPA of 6.50 on a 10-point scale from a recognised university. ICAR SRF/NET-qualified candidates are exempt from the UAS Dharwad entrance test and eligible for ICAR-funded seats directly. Non-ICAR candidates must appear for the university written entrance test, followed by shortlisting and an interview and viva voce at the campus.

Ans. Research areas include seed physiology and germination biology, seed vigour testing, seed production and certification techniques, seed storage and viability assessment, seed health and pathology, and molecular markers for seed purity testing. UAS Dharwad’s seed technology research covers crops such as sorghum, sunflower, maize, and cotton.
