The MP PET has 100 questions, split equally between math and a combined physics-chemistry section, with a scoring potential of 100 points. Faculty are highly educated, with many holding PhDs and having 20-30 years of experience, and focus on practical and approachable teaching.
The curriculum includes eight semesters, with an emphasis on core subjects after the first year, and about 50 exams throughout the program. The placement cell actively connects students with companies like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, and Microsoft, with a high placement success rate of 80-95% and salary packages between 3 to 72 LPA. Internships start from the 3rd or 4th semester, with companies like Google participating. Tuition fees range from Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 85,000 per year depending on the branch, with average total costs for four years around Rs. 120,000.
The fee structure remains constant after admission. Hostel fees are Rs. 400 per month. Scholarships are available, particularly for SC/ST/OBC students, covering up to 70-80% of fees. The state government provides scholarships of Rs. 28,000 for OBC students, and often full tuition coverage for SC/ST students. General category scholarships are limited and usually tied to performance or income. The placement experience is generally well-organized, with students eligible for placements by the 5th or 6th semester and average starting salaries around 3.5 LPA.
