DPU B.P.T : Fees 2026, Course Duration, Dates, Eligibility

Ans. NEET is not required for BPT admission at Dr. DY Patil Vidyapeeth. The university conducts its own entrance test, AIAHCET (All India Allied Health Common Entrance Test), for BPT and other Allied Health programmes. The AIAHCET for 2026 was held on 28 June 2026. Admission is based on AIAHCET merit rank through DPU’s internal counselling, making it accessible to candidates who did not appear in NEET.

Ans. The total tuition for the BPT programme at DPU is INR 12,00,000 for the 4 academic years, at INR 3,00,000 per year. Hostel charges of INR 3,05,000 per year are optional. NRI quota tuition is USD 5,000 per year. A 3% annual increase may apply from the second year. Government scholarship recipients from OBC and SC/ST categories may avail up to full tuition waiver through Maharashtra state schemes.

Ans. BPT students at DPU complete clinical training at Dr. DY Patil Hospital and Research Centre, the university’s own 900-bed teaching hospital on the Pimpri campus. The physiotherapy department at the hospital provides rotations in orthopaedic rehabilitation, neurological physiotherapy, cardiopulmonary physiotherapy, paediatric physiotherapy, and sports medicine. The on-campus location ensures daily practical exposure without commuting to an external hospital facility.

Ans. Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English, scoring a minimum of 50% aggregate marks (with relaxation for reserved categories). The minimum age is 17 years as of December 31 of the admission year. A medical fitness certificate from a registered practitioner is required at the time of document verification. Candidates must have appeared in AIAHCET conducted by DPU for the 2026 admission cycle.

Ans. BPT graduates from DPU can work as physiotherapists in multi-specialty hospitals, rehabilitation centres, orthopaedic clinics, sports medicine facilities, and geriatric care centres. Government sector opportunities include positions in public hospitals and AYUSH wellness centres. Graduates may also pursue MPT (Master of Physiotherapy) from DPU or other universities to specialise in fields such as neurology, musculoskeletal rehabilitation, cardiopulmonary physiotherapy, or sports physiotherapy.

Ans. The BPT programme at Dr. DY Patil Vidyapeeth spans 4.5 years in total, structured as 4 years of academic study across 8 semesters under the CBCS framework, followed by a compulsory 6-month internship at the university’s teaching hospital. The curriculum covers anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, exercise therapy, electrotherapy, manual therapy, rehabilitation sciences, and community physiotherapy, with clinical practicals integrated throughout the academic years.
