IK Gujral Punjab Technical University offers a two years full-time MCA program. The admission to which is based on the candidate’s performance in the entrance examination conducted by the university.

All those candidates who have passed bachelor's degree of minimum three years duration in BCA/ B.Sc.(IT)/ B.Sc.(CS) or equivalent/ B.Voc. with Computer as a major subject and with mathematics at 10+2 level or at graduation level are eligible for admission into the MCA course.

Candidates aspiring to take admission into the course must have completed their bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 50% as an aggregate.

How to Apply?

Once the registration is completed the candidate will receive the username and password in his/her mail id
Candidates can now log in to the portal and can fill in the personal details such as Preferred course, educational background, etc.
Candidates can now submit the application form by paying the application fee. Application fees can be paid either through Debit/Credit cards or through Netbanking.
Students can also pay the application fee offline by issuing a Demand Draft in favor of IKGPTU payable at Jalandhar, Punjab.

Ans. Students should submit the following documents at the time of admission:

10+2 Marks card

Caste Certificate (if applicable)

Transfer/ Migration Certificate.

Ques. How many seats are available for MCA courses?

Ans. Usually, the institute has an intake of 25 students in the MCA course. The number of intakes however increases or decrease regarding the number of students applied.

Ques. Can I do an MCA since I didn’t have Mathematics in my 10+2?

Ans. No, it is compulsory to have Mathematics as one of the subjects in 10+2 to be eligible for the MCA course.

Ques. Does the institute offer scholarship opportunities to its students?

Ans. Yes, PTU offers a number of schemes for students including SC/ ST welfare schemes, in which no fee is to be paid by the SC/ ST students. Besides it also successfully executes different schemes of the Punjab Government.
