SRIHER BASLP Audiology And Speech [Language Pathology]: Fees 2026, Course Duration, Dates, Eligibility

Ans. The SRIHER Group A Entrance Exam is a 120-MCQ offline paper-based test of 2 hours covering Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. There is no negative marking. The exam is conducted at three centres in Tamil Nadu: Chennai, Coimbatore, and Madurai. Application was open from February 11 to May 20, 2026, and the exam was held on May 31, 2026. Admission is based purely on this merit rank.

Ans. The total tuition fee for the 3-year BASLP program at SRIHER is INR 4,50,000 at INR 1,50,000 per year. The Founder-Chancellor Merit-cum-Means Scholarship of up to INR 50,000 per year is available from the second year for academically strong and financially needy students. Tamil Nadu government scholarships and NSP central schemes are also applicable for eligible category students at SRIHER.

Ans. Yes. The BASLP program at SRIHER is recognised by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI). Graduates can register with RCI after completing the degree and are legally permitted to practice as Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists in India. RCI registration is mandatory for clinical practice in India and SRIHER’s BASLP degree fulfils the academic requirement for this registration.

Ans. BASLP graduates can work as audiologists, speech-language pathologists, or hearing aid dispensers in hospitals, rehabilitation centres, schools for the deaf, and private practice. They can also work in cochlear implant centres, corporate settings managing voice and communication disorders, and NGOs focused on disability rehabilitation. Postgraduate options include M.Sc Audiology, M.Sc Speech-Language Pathology, and M.Phil. programs at universities across India.

Ans. SRIHER BASLP has an intake of 50 seats per academic year. There is no management quota at SRIHER. All seats are filled purely on merit through the SRIHER Group A Entrance Exam. There are no donation or capitation fee seats. Admissions are conducted transparently through the official SRIHER admissions portal based solely on entrance exam rank.

Ans. BASLP students at SRIHER receive clinical training in the institution’s audiology and speech therapy department, which is part of the ENT facilities within SRIHER’s multi-specialty teaching hospital. Training includes audiometric testing, hearing aid fitting, cochlear implant rehabilitation, and speech-language therapy for conditions such as stuttering, voice disorders, aphasia, and paediatric language delays.
