NUJS was established in 1999 by the Bar Council of India, in conjunction with the government of West Bengal. It is an autonomous law university offering courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate students. It is located in the salt lake city of Kolkata. It is considered to be one of the best amongst elite national law schools. The unvirsity offers the students a five year Integrated B.A./B.Sc.
