About COEP Tech B.Tech
COEP Technological University in Pune offers a four-year, full-time B.Tech in nine branches with 1,185 seats in all. Most seats go through MHT CET and the State CET Cell CAP rounds. 20% of every branch goes to All India students on JEE Main. The university began in 1854 as the College of Engineering, Pune. The full fee without hostel is INR 6.02 Lakhs, the same for every branch, and INR 8.02 Lakhs with the hostel fee. In CAP round 1 of 2026, Computer Science closed at 150 for General. Metallurgy, the easiest branch to get, closed at 4,977. The Class of 2026 averaged INR 12.5 LPA across all branches and 90% of the batch was placed.

COEP Tech B.Tech Fees
The total fees with hostel is INR 8.02 Lakhs and the fees without hostel is INR 6.02 Lakhs. The tuition fee is INR 5.03 Lakhs of that, charged INR 1,25,830 a year. You pay the same fee in every branch, at the 2026-27 rate. The caution deposit of INR 6,000 comes back when you leave. SC, ST and OBC students pay far less, because the state pays their tuition.

COEP Tech B.Tech Eligibility
You need 45% in Physics, Maths and one more subject in Class 12, or 40% if you are a reserved category student from Maharashtra. You also need an MHT CET score for state seats or a JEE Main score for All India seats. Every branch uses the same rule.

COEP Tech B.Tech Admission Process
The State CET Cell allots every seat in CAP rounds. You register, fill an option form with COEP Tech branches in the order you want them, and accept the seat you get. You then report to the university with your original papers.

COEP Tech B.Tech Scholarships
The state pays full tuition, INR 1,25,830 a year, for OBC students and for girls with family income under INR 8 Lakhs. SC and ST students also get the development fee paid. EWS and EBC students get half the tuition. You apply on the MahaDBT portal every year, or you pay the full fee.

COEP Tech B.Tech Hostel and Campus
The hostel fee is INR 50,000 a year, and refundable deposits of INR 10,000 and INR 7,000 are paid once. Rooms go by merit number, branch by branch. Students living inside the Pune and PCMC city limits cannot get a hostel seat. A student cooperative manages the mess, paid separately.

Fill your branch order: List COEP Tech branches in the option form in the order you want them. The form is your branch order.
Accept the seat: Accept the allotted seat online and pay by the date on your letter, or you lose it.
Report at COEP Tech: Bring your original papers. Freeze the seat, or keep it and wait for a better branch in a later round.

Write MHT CET and register for the State CET Cell CAP rounds. Fill COEP Tech branches in your option form in the order you want them. If a seat is allotted, accept it online and report with your papers. All India seats use your JEE Main score in the same CAP process.
Is the fee the same for every branch?▾
Yes. The full 4-year fee is INR 6.02 Lakhs without hostel in every branch, at the 2026-27 rate. The hostel fee adds INR 50,000 a year. SC, ST and OBC students pay much less because the state pays their tuition.

Yes, Besides traditional Engineering programs, there is another program launched by COEP. This program is B.Tech. Robotics and Artificial Intelligence. The program is launhed with a view to teach students advanced applications of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence in Manufacturing, Space Explorations, Agriculture, Health Care, Military, Navigation etc. The institute has also started Centralised Robotics and Automation Library and Industrial Robotics Laboratory.
