SGT M.Sc Paediatric Nursing FAQs
Ques. Is work experience mandatory for admission to M.Sc. Child Health (Paediatric) Nursing at SGT University, and what counts as valid experience?
Ans. Yes, a minimum of 1 year of clinical work experience after B.Sc. Nursing (or prior to/after Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing) is a mandatory eligibility requirement for M.Sc. Nursing admission at SGT University, as per Indian Nursing Council (INC) regulations. Valid work experience includes employment as a registered nurse in any recognized hospital, nursing home, community health centre, or healthcare institution. The experience must be supported by a work experience certificate on the institution's letterhead, signed by the authorized signatory. Voluntary or unpaid internship experience during B.Sc. Nursing does not count towards this requirement.
Ques. What is the difference between M.Sc. Nursing (Child Health Paediatric Nursing) and a general M.Sc. Nursing program?
Ans. M.Sc. Nursing at SGT University is offered in five specializations: Obstetric and Gynaecological Nursing, Child Health (Paediatric) Nursing, Mental Health (Psychiatric) Nursing, Medical-Surgical Nursing, and Community Health Nursing. The Child Health (Paediatric) Nursing specialization focuses specifically on the nursing care of neonates, infants, children, and adolescents, covering topics like neonatal intensive care, paediatric emergency nursing, child development, immunization, and management of childhood diseases. A general M.Sc. Nursing without specialization is not offered; all students must choose one of the five specializations.
