SGT University Gurgaon M.Sc Obstetrics & Gynecology Nursing: Fees 2026, Course Duration, Dates, Eligibility

Ans. Yes, work experience is mandatory. Candidates must have a minimum of one year of work experience after completing B.Sc Nursing, or one year of experience prior to or after completing Post Basic B.Sc Nursing. Valid experience includes employment as a staff nurse in a hospital, nursing home, or healthcare institution. A formal work experience certificate on the organisation's letterhead is required at the time of document verification. Voluntary or informal work may not be accepted.

Ans. These are two entirely different programmes. M.Sc Nursing (Obstetrics & Gynaecology Nursing) is a nursing postgraduate degree for registered nurses (B.Sc Nursing graduates) and focuses on advanced nursing care in obstetrics and gynaecology. M.S. (Obstetrics & Gynecology) is a medical postgraduate degree for MBBS doctors and focuses on surgical and clinical management of obstetric and gynaecological conditions. The eligibility, curriculum, career outcomes, and fees are completely different.

Ans. SGT University has a 1000+ bed teaching hospital (SGT Hospital) on campus, which includes dedicated obstetrics and gynaecology wards, labour rooms, operation theatres, and neonatal ICUs. Students get direct clinical postings in these departments as part of their curriculum. Additionally, the National Reference Simulation Centre (NRSC) on campus provides simulation-based training for obstetric emergencies, neonatal resuscitation, and other high-risk scenarios, which is a significant advantage for skill development.

Graduates can pursue careers as Clinical Nurse Specialists in obstetrics and gynaecology departments of hospitals, Nurse Educators in nursing colleges (teaching B.Sc Nursing students), Nurse Practitioners in maternal and child health programmes, and researchers in nursing and women's health. All hostel fees include mess charges (meals). The hostel fee must be paid on a yearly basis; instalment payment is not available.

Yes, candidates who completed their B.Sc Nursing from any recognised university (not just SGT University) are eligible to apply, provided they meet the minimum eligibility criteria of 55% aggregate marks and one year of work experience. However, students who completed their qualifying degree from SGT University are eligible for an additional 5% scholarship over and above the applicable merit scholarship slab, which is an added benefit for SGT alumni.
