Ans. VTUEEE is not mandatory. Vel Tech offers a direct admission route where candidates are admitted purely on the basis of their 10+2 (MPC) marks without appearing for any entrance exam. However, appearing for VTUEEE is beneficial because it makes you eligible for rank-based scholarships (up to 75% on tuition fee for top 20 state/UT ranks). If you have strong 12th marks (above 80% in MPC), you can still avail the merit scholarship under the Mahatma Gandhi National Merit Scholarship scheme even through direct admission.

Ans. B.Tech CSE (Data Science) is rooted in core Computer Science and Engineering with a specialisation in Data Science, covering algorithms, software engineering, databases, and data-centric tools. B.Tech AI & Data Science (offered under the AI & DS department) has a stronger focus on artificial intelligence techniques alongside data science. If you are more interested in software development and data engineering roles, CSE (Data Science) is a better fit. If you want to focus more on AI research and intelligent systems, AI & Data Science may suit you better. Both programmes have similar placement outcomes at Vel Tech.

Graduates can pursue roles such as Data Analyst, Data Scientist, Machine Learning Engineer, Business Intelligence Analyst, Data Engineer, and Software Developer in companies across IT, finance, healthcare, and e-commerce sectors. Ans. Yes, Vel Tech offers Minor Degree programmes that students can pursue alongside their main B.Tech degree. Minor degrees are completed through additional credit courses during the regular semesters and do not extend the programme duration. Ans. Hostel accommodation at Vel Tech is optional and not mandatory. The campus has separate hostels for boys and girls with both AC and Non-AC room options. Fees range from Rs. 1,05,000/year (Standard Non-AC) to Rs. 1,65,000/year (Single AC). A one-time hostel admission fee of Rs. 5,000 and a refundable caution deposit of Rs. 5,000 are also applicable. Allotment is on a first-come-first-served basis, so early applicants have a better chance of getting their preferred room type.
