IIM Visakhapatnam PGPMCI is structured in two modules, leading to an MBA degree after successful completion of both modules. Ques. Does the IIM Visakhapatnam PGP fee include mess and other charges?
Ans. No, the PGP program fee does not fully cover mess and other usage-based charges. Students have to pay an advance of INR 25,000 with each term fee towards mess, AC, printing, and photocopy charges. These expenses are adjusted against the actual charges, and any additional amount has to be paid by the student. If there is an excess amount, it is adjusted against the next term and refunded at the end of the program.
Ques. Is the caution deposit at IIM Visakhapatnam refundable?
Ans. Yes, the INR 40,000 caution deposit for the PGP is refundable and is paid separately at the beginning of Term 1. It is in addition to the program fee. The Executive PhD program also includes a refundable INR 50,000 caution deposit within its first instalment.
Ques. Does IIM Visakhapatnam provide any financial aid or fee waiver?
Ans. Yes, IIM Visakhapatnam provides need-based financial aid for eligible PGP students. The current policy provides 100% and 25% tuition fee waivers, with at least 2% of the batch receiving the 100% waiver and at least 6% receiving the 25% waiver. The financial aid is applicable only to tuition fees and does not cover mess, hostel, AC, printing, photocopying, deposits, or other incidental expenses.
Ques. Can students get a fee refund if they withdraw from the IIM Visakhapatnam PGP?
Ans. The refund depends on when the student withdraws. Before the stipulated date in the admission offer, the amount paid can be refunded after deducting INR 1,000 as administrative charges. After the offer deadline but before registration, refund is subject to the planned intake and is processed on a first-come, first-served basis in eligible cases. Once Term 1 classes begin, fee refund requests are not considered.
Ques. Does IIM Visakhapatnam change the tuition fee during the course?
Ans. For the PGP, IIM Visakhapatnam has stated in its RTI response that the tuition fee once declared does not change for a particular batch. However, mess charges are based on actual expenses and may therefore be lower or higher than the mess advance paid by students.
