Remarks:

I chose this because it was the only IIT, I was eligible for. I had no choice but to select this institution. In addition to this, my home town is nearby. So it helps me to go there whenever needed. After coming to the campus, at first I kind of regretted the decision since the permanent campus was yet to be completed, but after spending some time I stopped regretting.

Remarks:

IIT Dharwad is an emerging new IIT and has a good study culture college and you can find anything related to academics here with friendly professors and seniors to guide you in everything. We have a Student Mentorship Program in which the senior help juniors in academic and other queries. We don't have many high end research facilities for Electrical and Mechanical departments yet but things are changing with procurement and installation of many new equipment and labs in out temporary campus like a Field Electron Microscope installed last year. The climate of Dharwad is really good and its never too hot or cold here. But my college does lack in some other not academic facilities when compared to other IIT's as we don't have separate grounds for Football and Hockey and other recreational activities possible inside campus are few but still you won't get bored as there are many thing you can do with friends apart from regular cultural and other creative activities from over 20 clubs founded and managed by students.

Admission:

Almost every student who is preparing for engineering must have heard about IIT. They are the best engineering colleges the country can offer. To get into IIT, one need to clear JEE mains and then JEE advance to secure their seats. The rest counseling process takes place via JOSAA website from CBSE. Getting into an IIT is very tough as almost 15Lac applicants apply for JEE mains and around 2.5Lac get short-listed for JEE advance and only 10,000-12,000 seats are available in IIT, so you can imagine.

Candidates are allotted seats in seven rounds of JoSAA counselling 2020. The seat allotment is based on the college cutoff and candidate's preference of courses and colleges.
