With an acceptance rate of 48%, the College of New Jersey enrolls more than 7,000 students each year. Currently, the college offers more than 50 degrees as well as a seven-year combined B.S./M.D. (bachelor of science/doctor of medicine) program in conjunction with New Jersey Medical School.

College of New Jersey International Student Admissions

The admission process is similar for both national and international students. The admission requirements for international applicants vary.

Admission Requirements for International Students

  • All the academic records/transcripts from the previously attended institution(s).
    • Official transcripts that are not in English, must be accompanied along with the certified English translation.
  • Must have a minimum GPA of 3.30 in the last two years of their previous program.
  • GRE/GMAT exam scores, if applicable.
  • Proof of English proficiency.
  • At least one Letter of recommendation is mandatory.
  • An updated resume consisting of professional experience and educational qualifications.
  • Letter of Intent or Statement of Purpose highlighting an applicant’s career objective and future goals.
  • Departmental requirements: In addition to the general admission requirements, some departments require a separate departmental application, portfolio, audition or interview.

Visa Process for International Students

  • Form I-20 is issued to the applicants by the university
  • Applicants will need to provide the following documents to receive the Form I-20:
    • Bank statement
    • Copy of passport
    • Proof of financial support
    • Sponsor letter, if applicable
  • Complete the I-20 and pay the SEVIS I-901 fee.
  • Applicants then need to apply for the F-1 or J-1 visa. Submit the form and pay the application fee.
  • Schedule and attend the visa interview

College of New Jersey Undergraduate Admissions

College of New Jersey is selective with admissions and offers more than 50 undergraduate courses to all the applicants in seven schools. The basic admission process for all the courses is the same.
