Denison University is a private liberal arts college from Ohio that was established in the year 1831. The institute is one of the earliest educational institutes and a renowned name in the US Education System. It offers a plethora of courses including undergraduate liberal arts programs to its applicants around the globe. to generations of students.

Programs, Campus and Accommodation

Courses

The university offers various diverse courses for international students at the level of undergraduate and graduate. It reported an endowment fund of 800 USD million for the most recent academic year.

The university has over 53 academic programs and 4 pre-professional programs. It provides three undergraduate degrees namely Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Fine Arts. 

The organization also has a Study Abroad program where students complete a semester in an international partner university. Over half of the university’s student body opt for the study abroad program.

Campus

  • The 1,100 acre big university campus also houses a 400-acre bio-reserve and an 18 hole Denison Golf Club at Granville.
  • 99% of the incoming students stay on-campus at one of many living options.
  • A candidate can choose to join one of 165 student clubs and organizations, 40 plus club and intramural sports and 24 NCAA D-III varsity sports teams at Denison.
  • There are over 16 plus academic buildings at the institute, including the university library. There are also 8 administrative buildings and 32 residence halls.

Housing Facilities/Residence

The institute provides on-campus accommodation alternatives for its 99% of the total student body. The university’s undergraduate student population is required to stay on-campus in one of 32 halls and other living option buildings.

Candidates have the option to stay in a residence hall on a sharing basis, single rooms, suites, apartments and senior co-ed apartments. There is also the Homestead, which is a student-run alternative student living community.

There are seven different meal plans provided at the university. The Big Red or the Unlimited Access plan works on a flex dollar system and can be used at the dining hall and university cafeteria.

Scholarships and Financial Aid

The institute offers financial aid for all its deserving applicants in the form of awards and scholarships for international students to study in the USA. It offers the same merit-based and need-based financial aid for all its international candidates as the U.S. citizens and permanent residents are eligible for.

All international students, at time of admission, are considered automatically for merit-based scholarships starting from 5,000 USD to full tuition amount per year. To see which scholarship one is eligible for, the student services office can be contacted. Students must submit CSS Profile by January 15 to be considered for being granted need-based financial aid.

For need-based aid, international applicants must submit the international student certification of finances during admission, depicting availability of funds to finance the program.

Students can also choose to work on campus through the work-study program. Payment is as per the minimum wage rate of the state and payment made is to be used towards additional educational costs.

Alumni Network

As of 2019, the total alumni of Denison University is 37,000. All graduating students get to be a part of the institute’s large alumni network. The benefits they enjoy are an invitation to attend college events, provide scholarships to worthy students, get help with current job openings and many more.
