Ramapo College of New Jersey, founded in 1969, is a public liberal arts college located in Mahwah, New Jersey. The college has a size of approximately 6,000 students at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Ramapo College of New Jersey Campus

Set on 300 wooded acres in Mahwah, the Ramapo College campus includes modern academic buildings, student center, library, entertainment & meeting spaces, cafeteria, spiritual center, and playing fields. The college is situated in an estate-style setting of New Jersey in a large metropolitan region at the foothills of Bergen County’s Ramapo Mountains. 

To make it a better place to live in the students are provided with some of the facilities that include:

  • Bookstore to purchase books, apparel, accessories, and supplies.
  • Dining services
  • Student Affairs, to help the student make healthy decisions regarding their career and become responsible citizens.

  • A community called the Women’s Center, where students can collaborate on social justice initiates.

Ramapo College Residence/ Student Housing

Ramapo College has 8 residential buildings. All their buildings are equipped with various facilities to make the student’s life as comfortable as possible. The on-campus residence includes facilities like air conditioning, high-speed internet, Cable television, laundry facilities, off-campus shuttle, smoke-free environment, carpeted bedrooms, lounges, vending machines, recycling programs, etc. 

The following are the residential buildings:

  • Bischoff Hall Building- It is a five-story building and has large rooms like a hotel. It can accommodate about 250 students, with 2 residents in one room.
  • College Park Apartments- These are fully furnished apartment complexes of a total of 14 buildings. Each building has 2-3 floors. And every apartment has 2 bedrooms, bath, kitchen and living room. It can accommodate about 560 students.
  • Laurel Hall- It is a suite-style residence that contains 4 single bedrooms, a bathroom with a stall shower and a small common area. There can accommodate about 432 students here.
  • Mackin Hall- This is the first year resident building. It is a 5-story building and has a double occupancy bedroom. It can accommodate 250 students.
  • Overlook Building- It is a 4 person suite of 2 bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a sitting room. The building can accommodate 295 students.
  • Pine Hall Building- It is a suite for first-year students. It is a 5-story building with 6 people and 7 people suits containing a sitting room, three double small bedrooms, a large bath. It can accommodate a total of 340 students.
  • Village Area- The village area has 32 houses, each of them is a 3-story building. These are apartments with 4 single bedrooms, large baths, a full kitchen, and a dining or living room. They can accommodate approx 520 students. 
  • Specialty Housing- These residence buildings have different facilities and they include housings like Sustainable Eco-friendly Housing, Gender Inclusive Housing and Alcohol Allowed Housing.

Ramapo College of New Jersey Programs

Ramapo College of New Jersey offers academic degree programs at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. A total of 40 major, minor, concentration, graduate and joint degrees in various fields are offered at the college. Students can search for the program of their interest under the following departments:

  • Anisfield School of Business- Under this faculty, they have business and management related courses like accounting, finance, marketing, MBA, International business, etc.
  • School of Contemporary Arts- This faculty conducts courses related to fine arts and communication arts. 
  • School of Humanities and Global Studies- They offer courses like Anthropology, American Studies, Foreign Languages, History, International Studies, Literature, Political Science, Liberal Studies, and Philosophy and help students become empowered global citizens.
  • School of Social Sciences and Human Services- They have courses that help students focus on how people think, interact, grow, and respond to society and the evolving standards in our communities. They include courses like, criminal justice, sociology, Ethnicity & race studies, social science, leadership and organization behavior, etc.
  • School of Theoretical and Applied Science (TAS)- They offer courses related to science like biology, chemistry, nursing, plant studies, mathematics, engineering physics, computer science, etc.
