Ramapo College of New Jersey is a Liberal Arts college offering courses in the field of Business, Arts, Humanities, Human Services and Applied Science.

The college has a total enrollment of 4718 students, out of which 4570 are enrolled in UG courses and 158 in PG programs. During Fall 2018 admission, the college received 6945 applications, however, only 4368 applications were accepted by the university. The admission process is selective, with an acceptance rate of 62%

Ramapo College of New Jersey International Admissions

International students from more than 40 countries are currently attending Ramapo College. In 2019, Ramapo received applications from students in 34 different countries.

To apply for admission the applicant has to fulfil the following requirements -

Admissions requirements -

  • Official high school transcripts or official college transcripts
  • Proof of English Proficiency
  • SAT/ACT scores
    • The average SAT score range is 1100-1300 and average ACT composite is 24-26.
  • One letter of recommendation (from a school counselor, teacher)
  • Application supplement
  • Affidavit of support
  • Official immunization record
  • Visa, Passport and other documents for an F-1 visa are required.

Language Requirements for International Students

International students are required to demonstrate their proficiency in English by fulfilling one of the following criteria if they have lived in the USA for less than 5 years:

Visa Process for International Students

  • Once admitted to the college the student will be notified, in writing and additionally sent a Form I-20 (Certificate of Eligibility for Non- Immigrant “F-1” students Status).
  • This form, along with the financial documentation has to be submitted to the Visa officer at the American Embassy when you apply for Student Visa.
  • For further changing their status in the US, they have to further contact the ISSS (International Student and Scholar Services)

Ramapo College Undergraduate Admissions

Ramapo College offers a wide variety of UG courses. The most popular UG programs offered by the university are Business Administration, Nursing, Biology, Psychology, Communications Arts and Accounting.

Ramapo College Graduate Admissions

Ramapo offers PG courses in the field of Business Administration, Educational Leadership, Nursing, Accounting, Educational Technology and Social Work.

Similar to the undergraduate admissions, even the graduate college has specific requirements based on the course chosen. Following are those specific requirements. The rest of the requirements remain the same.

Ramapo College considers several factors in reviewing an admissions application. Most important being the student’s academic performance in high school, particularly the student’s high school GPA and the rigour of the courses taken. Other factors include strong letters of recommendation from teachers and/or counsellors, a thoughtful admissions essay, a record of extracurricular activities and standardized test scores.

All applications are reviewed thoroughly by the Committee on Admission. Some applications will be reviewed several times as part of the evaluation process. Decisions on early decision applications will be sent on or before December 5, 2019. For those who submit early action applications, decisions will be sent on or before February 1, 2020. All decisions on regular decision applications will be sent on or before March 1, 2020.
