Admission Requirements for International Students

  • Applicant must complete the admission process. Original copies of secondary school transcript and test scores should be sent by mail to the university.
  • Online applicants are expected to submit a minimal 50 USD (non refundable) to Process the application.
  • Official copies of secondary and post-secondary educational records. (If records are in a language other than English, official translations must be submitted as well). The university highly recommends that students seek foreign educational credential evaluations fromNACES members.
  • A personal essay on a topic of your choice (1-2 typed pages preferred).
  • First time students are expected to meet the required SAT and ACT scores.

Note: Applicants must submit anAffidavit of Support(PDF) verifying that a sponsor will provide the Estimated Expenses in U.S. dollars to you for each calendar year of study at CCSU.

English Proficiency Test Score for International Students

International applicants can submit the TOEFL and/or IELTS scores to demonstrate English proficiency. The minimum required scores by the university are given below. However, applicants must note that several departments may different score requirements

Visa Process for International Students

  • International applicants will be issued Form I-20 from the university
  • Applicants will need to provide the following documents to receive the Form I-20:
    • Copy of passport
    • Proof of financial support
    • Bank statement
    • Sponsor letter, if applicable
  • Complete the I-20 and pay the SEVIS I-901 fee.
  • Applicants then need to apply for the F-1 or J-1 visa. Submit the form and pay the application fee.
  • Schedule and attend the visa interview
