International applicants are accepted by the university provided that they have met California Institute of Technology admissions eligibility requirements, provided official academic documents, and met deadlines. English Proficiency Test Score for International Students

To demonstrate English Proficiency, the California Institute of Technology admissions require that international applicants submit only TOEFL test scores. There are no minimum requirements for English Language proficiency test scores. All students with limited instruction in English will need to participate in a one-on-one English Evaluation with an English as a Second Language (ESL) instructor or enroll in an ESL course.

Visa Process for International Students

A student visa to study in the United States will be required by international applicants. A form called I-20 would be issued by the California Institute of Technology admissions, to candidates who have received an offer. The I-20 form is one of the documents needed to obtain a student visa. Others include;

  • A passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond your period of stay in the United States.
  • SEVIS I-901 fee payment. This fee may vary depending on some factors. Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS), is the United States automated system for information collection about students or exchange visitors from the period they enter the period they leave the United States.
