The Carnegie Mellon University is a research-based university offering a plethora of undergraduate and graduate courses that have been ranked among the top courses in the US. An acceptance rate of 17% makes CMU highly selective while granting admission to students. Every year applications are welcomed from students belonging to both traditional and non-traditional academic backgrounds and around 13,258 undergraduate and graduate students are granted admission.
Of the three application types, i.e., Early Decision, Regular Decision and Early Applications, Carnegie encourages students to apply primarily through the Early Decision Application. However, the Early Decision option is unavailable for students interested to enroll in courses like Acting, Directing, Dramaturgy, Music or Theater.

How to apply: The applications for undergraduate courses can be made via The Common Application App. Application Fee: 75 USD Academic Requirements: Applicants are required to fulfill the academic requirements by either taking ACT/SAT test and meeting the GPA requirements. In addition to this the international students are required to submit the English language proficiency test scores.

Language Requirements for International Students: International students are required to demonstrate proficiency in English by submitting either TOEFL or IELTS score. The minimum scores required for both the tests are given below:

Note: It is essential for the applicants to submit the academic test scores by January 1 and the supporting documents by January 15.
Carnegie offers a variety of graduate programs of which about 15+ subject areas have been ranked in the top 20 in the Global Universities Subject Rankings.
Application Portal: Applicants are required to visit the School of Computer Science online application portal. Application Fee: Students applying by November 30, 12 p.m. need to pay 75 USD for one program and 50 USD for each additional program. Students missing this deadline are required to pay 125 USD as the application fee and 75 USD for each additional program. Application Deadline: The last date to apply is December 10, however, the application can be submitted by November 30 to avoid higher application fee. Academic Requirements: To seek admission, applicants are required to submit GRE scores, an iBT score of minimum 100. Supporting Documents: PDF copy of recent academic transcript, resume, statement of purpose, three letters of recommendation from faculty member/recent employer.
