MY TIME AT THE VASSAR COLLEGE

Being a science student, I wanted to pursue my major studies in the field of psychology. I had consulted many counselors. I decided to apply to this college as it was consistently ranked among the top liberal arts college in the country. The college is even known for pioneering achievements in education with curricular innovation. I had applied to the college through a common coalition application. I had paid an application fee of around $65.

    Course Curriculum -

The program included the scientific study of behavior, mental processes, and psychological underpinnings. The curriculum is extraordinarily broad and deep. The members of the department are also actively involved in neuroscience and behavior. The curriculum even involved opportunities to work closely with faculty on significant research. The areas of study include- psychology in the law, brain development, and interpersonal processes.

VASSAR HAS REALLY GREAT ACADEMIC PEDAGOGY

I chose Vassar because I really connected with several faculty members when I visited. I loved how all of the departments were small, and that classes were never over 30 students, and that they were discussion based. When I sat in on a class, I was really impressed by the way the professor pushed her students for a higher level of intellectual thought. I also appreciate their housing choices. I lived in a vegan co-op for a year and it was a rewarding experience. Vassar also makes it really easy for students on financial aid to do JYA, and I was really interested in that.

    Course Curriculum -

I had a wonderful experience with the academics at Vassar. I loved all my professors and felt that the departments offered really interesting accessory lectures that helped with the learning process. I felt challenged in all of my classes as well like I was learning material that was relevant to both my future career and the real world.
