2018 admissions at Vassar College saw an acceptance rate of 24.6%. More than 80% of the admitted students belonged among the top 20% of their class. The college offers 51 majors, 5 interdepartmental programs under 30 departments. Applications are accepted for both Spring and Fall semesters.

Early Action/Decision admissions are offered by the college. The 2018 admissions saw an average score of 1390 in SAT and 31-33 in the ACT, accepted from admitted students.  

  • The deadlines for Early Decision Round I and Early decision Round II vary.
  • The decision for early application is announced within a month.
  • The first year international UG applicants can apply for various programs through either Common Application or Coalition Application.  
  • Vassar accepts the QuestBridge application from domestic applicants as well, because it is a QuestBridge partner school.

Vassar College International Student Admissions

There isn’t much difference between the application process of US applicants and international students, though international students must fulfil a few additional requirements. The admission requirements are:

  • High school transcripts
  • Must have a GPA of 3.8
  • TOEFL, SAT/ACT as required.
  • Proof of English proficiency for candidates whose first language is not English.
  • Two letters of recommendations
  • Documents required for Visa.

International students whose first language and/or the medium of instruction is not English are required to submit scores of either TOEFL or IELTS to prove their proficiency in English.

Visa Process for International Students 

The college will forward the I-20 Form after receiving all documents. The documents required for submitting the I-20 Form are:

  • Signed Candidate’s Reply Card
  • Enrollment deposit
  • I-20 Request Form
  • After completing the I-20, pay the SEVIS fee of 200 USD
  • After receiving the form, take the I-20, SEVIS fee voucher, passport and required documents to the nearest US embassy to request for an F-1 visa.
  • Schedule a visa interview on a suitable date.

Academic Requirements for Transfer Students

Admissions for international transfer students require the following document submission along with the application:
