I chose Macalester because it is situated in one of the major employment generating hubs with opportunities available in abundance. Considering its several high-level rankings and selective admissions process, I was initially skeptical of achieving a spot in Macalester. However, my sufficient academic scores, personal achievements, recommendation letters, and an essay landed me in the institute. The college charged an application fee of $40.
I am studying a cutting-edge econometrics course and throughout the curriculum, a combination of advanced statistical programs with unique and interactive teaching methods are being taught. Extensive experience in data processing, coding, estimation, visualization, and experimental design is also gained by me.
Location in a city, diversity, LGBT-friendliness, class offerings, lack of fraternities, good academic reputation, pretty campus, that it was a relatively small, liberal arts college, and the strong study abroad program.
I enjoyed all the classes I took, although there are breadth requirements that can be kind of annoying. All of the classes in my major were great, but there are definitely some gaps in the curriculum (e.g. almost no medieval history courses whatsoever)
