The admission process for international applicants is the same as that for US applicants. However, international applicants have to meet additional requirements. ELP test scores and visa requirements are two major additional requirements for international students.

The admissions at Macalester College are considered to be selective. The university’s admission office reviews the applicants not just their qualifications but also on the academic and professional challenges faced. SAT/ACT scores are not mandatory but for students who wish to provide the scores, the range is SAT- 670 to 750 and ACT- 30 to 34.
Decision notification by the university arrives by December 1 (early decision I), February 1 (early decision II), and March 30 (regular decision). Applicants are required to make a decision by January 15, February 15, and May 1.
