Stanford University has been consistently ranked #3 among public universities globally. Having a ranking within the top 10 universities globally, Stanford consistently has had low acceptance rates. For the recent 2019 admissions, the acceptance rate was as low as 3.9%. This, in turn, indicates that Stanford is increasingly becoming selective in offering admissions to students.
Most courses at Stanford begin either during Fall, Spring or Winter season. Yet a few courses have the option of offering admissions to students during the Summer Session.

The admission process at Stanford University begins either during the Fall, Spring or WInter season. The following table shows the deadlines for international students, for application and document submission:

International students must demonstrate English language proficiency by providing scores of any one of the following tests given below, to be eligible for admissions at Stanford:

There are more than 65 major fields of study offered at Stanford, at the undergraduate level. The international students can apply through either of the two application portals.
Application Portal: Apply through either:
Coalition Application: The cloud called Locker helps the applicants in saving the necessary documents for reference or uploading. There are also evaluators who can help assess the applicant’s application. Hence, students can also apply through the Coalition Application.

Academic Requirements for International Students: Applicants must submit either ACT or SAT score along with the application. These scores are valid for a period of 5 years. The average scores required are:
Supporting Documents: Official mid-year transcripts, secondary school report, essays, grading/evaluation system, SOP and 2 LORs from teachers.
Note: Admission requirements for Transfer students are same as of UG admissions. Only the deadlines differ.
At Stanford, there are 7 graduate schools that offer more than 150 courses. Each course has a different requirement and application process. Students are eligible for admissions if they hold a degree from Stanford/US/an equivalent US degree.
How to apply: There are different portals to apply for the desired course. The applications are filed through the respective school’s website.
When to apply: Deadlines also vary with each course. Students are admitted in Fall, Spring and Winter seasons.
Academic Requirements for International Students: GRE/GMAT/LSAT (valid for 3 to 5 years) and English language test scores like IELTS/TOEFL are required.
Supporting Documents: UG degree, official transcripts, translated transcripts if not in English, grading system, LORs, SOP, etc. are basic requirements for each course.
Interviews: May be conducted, depending upon the course requirements.
