CWRU Application Process for Indian Students
The application steps differ by level. Undergraduate applicants file through the Common Application, graduate applicants file directly on the CWRU School of Graduate Studies portal, and MBA applicants file on the Weatherhead admissions portal. All three portals accept unofficial documents at the review stage, and official copies are requested only after admission.
- Create a Common App account for UG, or a CWRU Graduate Studies account for PG, and open the CWRU application.
- Complete the biographical, education, and activities sections, then attach your essay or statement of purpose.
- Request letters of recommendation through the portal so recommenders can upload directly.
- Upload unofficial transcripts and unofficial English test score reports.
- Pay the application fee: $75 (₹7,169) for UG on the Common App, $50 (₹4,779) for PG on the CWRU portal, or $100 (₹9,558) for MBA on the Weatherhead portal.
- Submit before your program’s deadline and track review status through the same portal.
- If admitted, upload official financial documentation so International Student Services can issue the I-20.

CWRU Acceptance Rate and Class Profile
Case Western Reserve University runs an institution-wide undergraduate acceptance rate of 26%, which places it in the selective band of US private research universities. Graduate acceptance rates vary sharply by school and program, and Weatherhead and the Case School of Engineering track a different applicant pool from the College of Arts and Sciences. CWRU’s current ranking band gives useful context for how competitive individual departments are.
Case Western Reserve University Class Profile Snapshot
Total Fall 2024 enrolment sat at 11,137 students, with 6,528 undergraduates and 5,947 graduate and professional students. Indian Applicant Review at Case Western Reserve University
CWRU reads Indian applications holistically. Undergraduate admissions weigh Class XII rigour, subject spread and essay quality alongside optional test scores. Graduate admissions weigh Bachelor’s GPA, prerequisite coursework, research or internship depth and a statement of purpose tied to specific CWRU faculty or research groups. Applicants targeting Weatherhead should show progression in analytics or leadership responsibility.
Case Western Reserve University admissions reward preparation, not aggression. File early with a Class-XII-anchored file for undergraduate seats, and file with a faculty-anchored SOP and clean prerequisite coursework for graduate seats. Track your program-specific deadline weekly through the Fall 2026 to Spring 2027 window, and lock down the I-20 and F-1 visa as soon as you accept the offer.

- The University has the best faculty and professors and I really love how they teach every topic in detail and makes sure we understand them.
- I really love the study hubs and library and all the events that take place in the University.
Likes
- I liked the location of the college. It's in a village. Quite peaceful.
- The Library and Resource structure is very good.
- The accomodation is available inside the campus. It's quite cheap according to the area.
Dislikes
- The research work there is quite good, but teaching quality is not.
- If you want to study logistics, everyone knows Cranfield in UK. No one knows it in finance field.
- Networking will be difficult as it's not in London and all the Finance jobs are in London.
Scholarship
- I got a scholarship of around 10%; I just applied and got it via my work experience applications. In my course, if you have cleared CA or CFA level 1, you will get around 20% of the scholarship.
- Financial aid was negligible in the case of Indian students, even though they do provide financial aid to students from other countries like Turkey and so on. In Logistics and Material Science, people do get a lot of financial aid. Not the case with Finance, it's extremely difficult.

- Best college I got into that offered me good funding. I actually wanted to go to University of Colorado-Boulder due to having a stronger physics department but I did not know they gave me funding due to a miscommunication.
Overview
I made great lifelong friends, had mostly brilliant professors and learnt a lot. The only criticism I have is I was not able to conduct research despite trying very hard.
Scholarship
I got the CWRU Grant which was just given to students who had outstanding high school performance and the Junior-Senior Scholarship given to STEM majors who maintained 3.0 GPA.
Overview
It was best for my particular course. I had looked at other colleges and their biomedical engineering classes but they weren't as exciting or interesting. Also, the campus of Case is so beautiful. It is very green and they care about the environment.
Overview
This university is surrounded by three great hospitals that provided good research and internship opportunities. They also provided me with a merit scholarship. For these reasons, I decided to attend CWRU.
