University of Dayton fees for Indian students are billed in United States dollars (USD), then converted here to Indian rupees (INR). Postgraduate (PG) tuition for selected 30-credit master’s routes is USD 34,350-35,100 (INR 32.81-33.52 Lakhs). Undergraduate (UG) tuition is USD 51,910 (INR 49.58 Lakhs) per year before merit aid. The Master of Business Analytics (MBAN) costs USD 35,100 (INR 33.52 Lakhs) for the 30-credit base path.

Dayton, Ohio is a residential university city in the United States of America (USA or U.S.). University housing should be budgeted first because Dayton’s official UG estimate includes housing and meal plan. The university lists living expenses at USD 17,990 (INR 17.18 Lakhs), plus miscellaneous expenses of USD 4,320 (INR 4.13 Lakhs).

  • UG merit scholarships can reduce tuition by up to USD 34,000 (INR 32.47 Lakhs) per year.
  • Graduate business routes use USD 1,170 (INR 1.12 Lakhs) per credit in the 2026/27 catalog.
  • Science and engineering graduate routes use USD 1,145 (INR 1.09 Lakhs) per credit.

A first-year UG Computer Science budget is about USD 75,355 (INR 71.97 Lakhs) before merit. It falls to USD 41,355 (INR 39.50 Lakhs) after the highest published award. The I-20 form is the immigration document used for the F-1 student visa. Dayton lists a graduate business I-20 total of USD 36,920 (INR 35.26 Lakhs) for one year. The 2026/27 fee year is the current published rate; Fall 2027 totals need the next official catalog.

Exchange rate used: USD 1 = INR 95.51, based on open.er-api.com on 11 September 2026.

Spring 2027 Intake: Visa-Aware Fee Window

Intake: Spring 2027 is workable where files are complete before 1 November 2026. Master of Business Administration (MBA), MBAN and Master of Finance (MFin) close on 11 December 2026. Fall 2027 follows with 1 May 2027 for UG and 1 June 2027 for most graduate files.

Fee update: The 2026/27 rates apply. UG tuition is USD 51,910 (INR 49.58 Lakhs), and featured PG routes use USD 1,145-1,170 (INR 1.09-1.12 Lakhs) per credit.

When to pay: UG admits pay a USD 400 (INR 38,204) enrollment deposit if required. Graduate admits pay the non-refundable Admission Account deposit after offer.

Scholarships: UG merit is automatic up to USD 34,000 (INR 32.47 Lakhs) yearly. Graduate merit aid is not offered, and major Indian external awards are closed for Spring 2027.

University of Dayton Tuition Fees by Programme

University of Dayton tuition fees start at USD 1,145 (INR 1.09 Lakhs) per credit for science and engineering graduate routes. The fee structure is flatter at UG level, where full-time tuition is one annual rate across these majors.

University of Dayton Postgraduate Fees: Spring 2027 and Fall 2027

10 PG routes use 2026/27 catalog credit rates and official credit counts. Spring 2027 is realistic only when application, financial documents and visa steps fit the deadline.

Tuition is charged per credit for these programmes. The full-course amount multiplies the current per-credit rate by required credits.

Master of Science in Engineering Management 30 credits, minimum programme total USD 1,145 (INR 1.09 Lakhs) per credit USD 34,350 (INR 32.81 Lakhs)

Full-course tuition uses current 2026/27 rates and required credits. It is not a future-fee forecast.

  • Business master’s routes cost USD 750 (INR 71,633) more than a 30-credit engineering master’s route.
  • MBAN, MBA and MFin have the tighter Spring 2027 business deadline of 11 December 2026.
  • Foundation modules can add work before MBA study, but the MBA catalog lists them as 0 credits.

University of Dayton Undergraduate Fees: Spring 2027 and Fall 2027

5 UG routes use the full-time 2026/27 tuition of USD 51,910 (INR 49.58 Lakhs) per academic year. Merit aid changes the net tuition, not housing or visa cash.

Tuition is charged annually for full-time UG study in the fall and spring terms.

Programme Duration Published tuition (USD and INR) Indicative full-course tuition (USD and INR)
Bachelor of Science, Computer Science 4 years, at least 120 credits USD 51,910 (INR 49.58 Lakhs) per year USD 207,640 (INR 1.98 Crore)

Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering 4 years, minimum 122 credits USD 51,910 (INR 49.58 Lakhs) per year USD 207,640 (INR 1.98 Crore)

Full-course tuition uses the current annual rate for four years. It excludes living costs, visa charges, travel and personal spending.

  • The highest UG merit award cuts annual tuition to USD 17,910 (INR 17.11 Lakhs).
  • The four-year tuition-only figure falls to USD 71,640 (INR 68.42 Lakhs) after maximum merit.
  • Engineering majors carry higher credit loads, but Dayton bills full-time UG tuition by term.
  • The USD 50 (INR 4,776) application fee applies to first-year and transfer UG applicants.

Note: Dayton’s UG billing range is unusually simple. A full-time term of 12-18 semester hours costs USD 25,955 (INR 24.79 Lakhs), before scholarships.

University of Dayton Fee Trend by Year

University of Dayton’s full-time UG tuition rose 2.57% from 2025/26 to 2026/27. The trend mainly affects Fall 2027 planning because the next catalog can reset four-year totals.

Year UG tuition (USD) UG tuition (INR) YoY change
2023/24 USD 47,600 (INR 45.46 Lakhs) INR 45.46 Lakhs Base year
2024/25 USD 49,140 (INR 46.93 Lakhs) INR 46.93 Lakhs 3.24%

Source: University of Dayton undergraduate tuition and charges catalogs, 2023/24 to 2026/27.

  • The annual UG tuition increase since 2023/24 is USD 4,310 (INR 4.12 Lakhs).
  • The 2026/27 increase alone added USD 1,300 (INR 1.24 Lakhs) before merit aid.
  • The highest merit award is larger than the latest one-year tuition increase.
  • Fall 2027 applicants should refresh totals when Dayton releases the 2027/28 catalog.

Key Insight: Spring 2027 uses the 2026/27 UG rate of USD 51,910 (INR 49.58 Lakhs). Fall 2027 budgets should hold this rate only until Dayton publishes 2027/28 tuition.

Cost of Living in Dayton for Indian Students

University of Dayton estimates UG living expenses at USD 17,990 (INR 17.18 Lakhs), including university housing and meal plan. The annual living expenses line should be separated from tuition, visa charges and deposits.

Expense Monthly (USD) Monthly (INR) Annual (INR) Notes for Indian Students
University housing and meal plan estimate USD 1,799 (INR 1.72 Lakhs) INR 1.72 Lakhs INR 17.18 Lakhs Based on Dayton’s UG international estimate for 10 months.
On-campus double room and board USD 1,774 (INR 1.69 Lakhs) INR 1.69 Lakhs INR 16.94 Lakhs Catalog benchmark uses double room occupancy and Flexible Meal Plan.
First-year residence-hall room only USD 1,014 (INR 96,847) INR 96,847 INR 9.68 Lakhs Marianist, Marycrest and Stuart halls start at USD 5,070 (INR 4.84 Lakhs) per term.
Graduate Garden apartment room only USD 893 (INR 85,290) INR 85,290 INR 10.24 Lakhs Food, utilities beyond housing terms and personal expenses remain separate.
Miscellaneous expenses USD 432 (INR 41,260) INR 41,260 INR 4.13 Lakhs Includes mandatory health insurance, transport, books and other personal costs.
UG living plus miscellaneous estimate USD 2,231 (INR 2.13 Lakhs) INR 2.13 Lakhs INR 21.32 Lakhs Excludes tuition, visa fees, airfare and enrollment deposit.

Source: University of Dayton international undergraduate tuition and costs, room and board catalog.

  • On-campus figures are more useful than private rent because Dayton publishes room and board by term.
  • Room-only graduate housing can look lower, but food and personal costs still need a separate budget.
  • Miscellaneous expenses are not billed by Dayton, but they affect visa proof and family cash flow.
  • Private leases near campus should not replace the official living budget without current contract terms.

Note: For Spring 2027, use USD 17,990 (INR 17.18 Lakhs) as the living-cost floor for UG planning. Room-only figures are billing benchmarks, not complete living budgets.

Room and board are billed by term, so a delayed remittance can affect housing clearance before travel.

Currency Tip: Spring 2027 payment-plan instalments begin on 22 December 2026. Fall 2027 should use Dayton’s next payment calendar before large USD transfers. A 2-3% spread on USD 35,100 (INR 33.52 Lakhs) equals USD 702-1,053 (INR 67,048-1.01 Lakhs).

Total Cost of Studying at University of Dayton

A Spring 2027 UG Computer Science first-year budget reaches USD 75,355 (INR 71.97 Lakhs) before merit. The same first-year budget drops sharply when the maximum Dayton merit award applies.

The Bachelor of Science, Computer Science is used as the worked example because Dayton publishes flat UG tuition and living estimates.

Scenario Tuition Living Mandatory Fees Total Year 1
UG Computer Science, before merit USD 51,910 (INR 49.58 Lakhs) USD 17,990 (INR 17.18 Lakhs), 10-month estimate USD 5,455 (INR 5.21 Lakhs), misc, visa and health charge USD 75,355 (INR 71.97 Lakhs)
UG Computer Science, after maximum merit USD 17,910 (INR 17.11 Lakhs) USD 17,990 (INR 17.18 Lakhs), 10-month estimate USD 5,455 (INR 5.21 Lakhs), misc, visa and health charge USD 41,355 (INR 39.50 Lakhs)

Source: University of Dayton international tuition pages, graduate I-20 cost page, undergraduate catalog charges.

  • The UG total includes tuition, living, miscellaneous costs, visa fee, Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) fee and health charge.
  • The USD 400 (INR 38,204) UG enrollment deposit is upfront cash, not an added tuition line here.
  • The graduate I-20 totals are official visa-proof amounts, not full 30-credit tuition comparisons.
  • Airfare, test retakes, credential evaluation and private lease deposits remain outside the table.

At unchanged current rates, four-year UG Computer Science tuition is USD 207,640 (INR 1.98 Crore) before merit. The maximum merit award cuts four-year tuition to USD 71,640 (INR 68.42 Lakhs). A loan of INR 50 Lakhs would need about INR 65,000-70,000 per month over 10 years at 10.5%.

Key Insight: The largest controllable saving for Spring 2027 UG entry is the merit award. A USD 34,000 (INR 32.47 Lakhs) award reduces first-year cost before Fall 2027 rates appear.

  • The Dayton UG award can be worth more than one year of net tuition after merit.
  • Graduate applicants should email departments early because assistantship approval can affect I-20 proof.
  • Indian loan scholarships are useful for Fall 2027 because Spring 2027 windows have closed.
  • Dayton does not offer full-tuition scholarships to international UG students.

Tip for Indian Students: For Spring 2027, the only confirmed Dayton tuition reduction is UG merit up to USD 34,000 (INR 32.47 Lakhs). Graduate funding should be discussed before I-20 issuance.

Methods of payment for international students include:

  • Convera, where Dayton says students can pay deposits, tuition fees and more online.
  • Flywire, where Dayton says international funds typically take 3 business days to reach Flywire.
  • Credit card through the Payment Center, with a convenience charge added online.
  • University of Dayton (UD) Payment Plan, with 4 payments per semester and a USD 50 (INR 4,776) enrollment charge.
  • Education-loan disbursement, with receipts kept for the visa and university account file.

Steps to pay the tuition fee for international students:

  1. Accept the offer in the University of Dayton Admission Account.
  2. Pay the route-specific deposit listed for the admitted term.
  3. Submit financial documents for the I-20 form and F-1 student visa.
  4. Pay the balance by semester or through the UD Payment Plan.
  5. Keep payment receipts, loan letters and bank statements for the visa file.

Spring 2027 payment-plan dates are 22 December 2026, 22 January 2027, 22 February 2027 and 22 March 2027. Late or partial payments can add a USD 50 (INR 4,776) monthly late charge.

Note: Spring 2027 graduate admits should allow at least one week after deposit for the I-20 email. Flywire can add 3 business days before Dayton receives funds.

Hidden Costs of Studying at University of Dayton

Spring 2027 applicants need at least USD 535 (INR 51,098) in U.S. visa-linked government fees before the interview. These charges sit outside Dayton tuition and housing bills.

  • The Machine Readable Visa (MRV) fee for the F-1 student visa is USD 185 (INR 17,669).
  • The Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) I-901 fee is USD 350 (INR 33,428).
  • The application fee is USD 50 (INR 4,776) for UG and Spring 2027 graduate applications.
  • The UG enrollment deposit can require USD 400 (INR 38,204) before I-20 processing.
  • The Health and Wellbeing charge is USD 300 (INR 28,653) per semester.
  • Returned checks can cost USD 35 (INR 3,343) or 1% of the check amount.
  • Late registration can add USD 50 (INR 4,776) per week, capped at USD 150 (INR 14,327).

Cash needed before arrival for one UG Computer Science route:

Cash item Amount (USD and INR) When it is needed What it excludes
Application fee USD 50 (INR 4,776) Before application processing Test fees and credential evaluation
UG enrollment deposit USD 400 (INR 38,204) Before enrollment confirmation Tuition balance
F-1 visa MRV fee USD 185 (INR 17,669) Before visa appointment Travel to consulate
SEVIS I-901 fee USD 350 (INR 33,428) Before visa appointment Visa application fee
First residence-hall term USD 5,070 (INR 4.84 Lakhs) When housing charges are billed Meal-plan overages and airfare
Minimum upfront cash USD 6,055 (INR 5.78 Lakhs) Before travel and first billing clearance Tuition balance, airfare and private lease deposits

Source: University of Dayton enrollment, room and board, tuition charges and U.S. government visa fee pages.

Budget approximately INR 5.78 Lakhs for first-year hidden costs before tuition balance. A private lease deposit or airfare can raise the cash need beyond this minimum.

Note: The SEVIS I-901 fee is easy to miss because it is paid outside Dayton. Keep USD 350 (INR 33,428) ready before the visa appointment.

Fee Saving Strategies for Indian Students

Spring 2027 has 2 high-value savings checks: automatic UG merit and timely payment planning. Missing the deadline shifts the next realistic budget to Fall 2027 rates.

  • Claim the automatic UG merit route by completing documents before 1 November 2026 for Spring 2027.
  • Use Dayton housing figures before signing a private lease near campus.
  • Compare 30-credit graduate routes because business tuition is USD 750 (INR 71,633) higher than engineering.
  • Use the UD Payment Plan when family cash flow benefits from 4 instalments.
  • Convera or Flywire can save about 2-3% versus raw wire spreads on large remittances.
  • Section 80E of the Indian Income-tax Act allows interest deduction on eligible education loans.
  • Science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) graduates may get up to 36 months of Optional Practical Training (OPT).

A 2-3% forex saving on USD 35,100 (INR 33.52 Lakhs) equals about USD 702-1,053 (INR 67,048-1.01 Lakhs). That saving can cover the USD 535 (INR 51,098) visa-linked government fee set.

Tip for Indian Students: For Spring 2027 UG entry, the highest saving lever is Dayton’s merit award. A USD 34,000 (INR 32.47 Lakhs) award can reduce the first-year budget by more than 40%.

Is University of Dayton Worth the Cost for Indian Students

University of Dayton is most defensible when UG merit cuts annual tuition by USD 34,000 (INR 32.47 Lakhs). A 30-credit STEM graduate route near USD 35,100 (INR 33.52 Lakhs) is the second strongest case.

The MBA page lists an average starting salary of USD 80,663 (INR 77.04 Lakhs) for recent MBA graduates. That equals about USD 6,722 (INR 6.42 Lakhs) per month before tax. An INR 40 Lakhs loan needs about INR 54,000 per month over 10 years at 10.5%.

The U.S. OPT rule gives 12 months after non-STEM study and up to 36 months for STEM routes. MBAN, MBA STEM track, MFin and engineering master’s routes make that longer work window relevant.

Key Insight: Spring 2027 is financially stronger for UG admits who receive high merit. Without merit, Fall 2027 applicants should compare the next Dayton fee year before committing.

For Spring 2027, University of Dayton needs a first-year UG budget near USD 75,355 (INR 71.97 Lakhs) before merit. The same budget can fall near USD 41,355 (INR 39.50 Lakhs) after the highest UG award. Graduate applicants should separate 30-credit tuition from the official I-20 proof amount. Spring 2027 files should be complete by 1 November 2026, except MBA, MBAN and MFin on 11 December 2026. Fall 2027 decisions should wait for Dayton’s 2027/28 fee structure before final loan sizing.

  • One advantage with the shorelight is its compulsory to stay on campus in your 1 sem so you get 4 months to get to know where you want to go and take up and place to live but its also an disadvatage it costs more than the normal rent so basically also the normal rent per month would 250 to 300 and living cost would be done with 202 more so its really less comapred to other places so the living expense in dayton is quite less

  • I live in a townhouse near to the campus, it costs us 1250$ per month, but we share it with 4 people.

I have submitted a CV, SOP,3 LORs. in the SOP I have mentioned how interested I am in the university and also how I am a perfect choice for the masters degree at university of Dayton and in the CV. I have shown my technical knowledge by mentioning all my technical projects and also all the certifications that I have done in my bachelors. I’d say it’s good. When compare to other universities that tuition fees, low and also the accommodation near university of Dayton is cheap. If the student really works hard during the Masters then I would really say that they definitely gonna get a job.

I was attracted to the University of Dayton based on both its academic reputation as well as knowing several others from my high school whom I respected attending here ahead of me. I have found opportunities for personal growth and development not only academically, but also to expand beyond the classroom knowledge. Most of my professors in my major have real-world experience outside of academia and it shows. The professor for the capstone class in my major was instrumental in guiding me to an internship this past summer which greatly expanded my professional experience

The alumni network is great, the university is known for its excellence in research. It works in close coordination with engineering companies so faculty are always involved in cutting-edge projects.

I loved the campus, class size, community. Everything was just perfect from my first visit until graduation. It was also close to home, but far enough that my parents wouldn't stop by too much. There's just a sense of home at UD.
