UCF Eligibility for Indian Students
UCF’s baseline requirements cover academics, English proficiency, and (for undergraduates) a standardised test score. The bars below apply to the Indian secondary and Bachelor’s system.
- UG academic floor (recommended): Class XII from a recognised Indian board with around 60% aggregate; strong applicants sit above 75%.
- PG academic floor: A 4-year Bachelor’s degree (or a 3-year Bachelor’s plus a 1-year Master’s) with an absolute 3.0 GPA, roughly 60-65% in Indian terms.
UCF English Proficiency Minimums for Indian Applicants
| Test | UG Minimum | PG (Standard) | PG (Business, PhD) |
|---|---|---|---|
| TOEFL iBT | 80 (pre-Jan 2026) or 4 (Jan 2026+) | 80 (pre-Jan 2026) or 4 (Jan 2026+) | 91 (pre-Jan 2026) or 4.5+ |
| IELTS Academic | 6.5 | 6.5 | 7.0 |
UCF IELTS and TOEFL Waiver for Indian Students
Indian applicants can skip the English test in three verified cases published by UCF:
- You already hold a degree from a country where English is the sole official language (India does not qualify by this route on its own).
- You completed Level 8 of UCF’s Intensive English Program with a B or higher.
- You scored a 68 or above in every sub-score on UCF Global’s Pearson Benchmark English Proficiency assessment.
Applicants whose entire Bachelor’s was taught in English-medium at an Indian university do not automatically qualify — UCF asks for a formal Medium-of-Instruction letter and reserves the right to insist on IELTS or TOEFL if the transcript is unclear.
UCF PG Programs and English Scores
UCF’s most-applied master’s programs for Indian students cluster in the College of Engineering and Computer Science and the College of Business. Base tuition for a standard PG program is around USD 22,988 (INR 22.01 Lakhs) per year, with the cost of attendance detailed in the course-wise fees breakdown.
| Programme | Duration | Minimum Eligibility | English Req. Min. |
|---|---|---|---|
| MS Computer Science | 2 years | Bachelor’s with 3.0 GPA in CS or related; WES/Silny evaluation | TOEFL 80 / IELTS 6.5 |
| MS Data Analytics | 2 years | Bachelor’s with 3.0 GPA; quantitative background preferred; no GRE | TOEFL 80 / IELTS 6.5 |
| MS Statistics and Data Science | 2 years | Bachelor’s in Statistics, Math, or quantitative field with 3.0 GPA | TOEFL 80 / IELTS 6.5 |

| MS Computer Engineering | 2 years | BE/BTech in CS, EE, or related with 3.0 GPA | TOEFL 80 / IELTS 6.5 |
University of Central Florida UG Programs
UCF admits Indian freshmen into all 100+ undergraduate majors; the most-applied paths for Indian students sit in Engineering, Computing, Business, and Hospitality. Popular BS programs are 4 years and share a common Class XII floor.

UCF MBA Admissions for Indian Applicants
UCF’s College of Business runs three MBA formats — the Professional MBA (weekend cohort), the Evening MBA, and the Executive MBA. All three drop the GMAT and GRE for 2027, keeping the Executive MBA GMAT-optional in line with the college’s recent policy shift.
UCF MBA Round Deadlines and Fees
| Programme | Intake | International Deadline | Test |
|---|---|---|---|
| Professional MBA | Fall 2027 | 15 January 2027 | None |
| Executive MBA | Fall 2027 | 15 January 2027 | None |
| MSA Accounting | Fall 2027 | 15 January 2027 | None |
UCF MBA Experience and Interview Bar
- Executive MBA: Minimum 8 years’ professional experience, of which 5 must be in a managerial or leadership role. Applicants without a Bachelor’s may substitute with 10+ years of documented executive experience.
- Professional MBA: Minimum 3 years of full-time work experience; interview is invitation-only after transcript screening.
- Evening MBA (not open to international students): Excluded from your shortlist — this variant requires a US work-authorised status.
- Interview format is a 30-minute video call with the MBA Director; typical shortlist notification runs 4 to 6 weeks after submission.
Funding for Indian MBA candidates is limited; explore funding for Indian students for merit awards.
UCF Application Process Step by Step
The undergraduate and graduate paths use two different portals — freshmen pick between the Common Application and UCF’s own form, while master’s and doctoral candidates go through the UCF Graduate Application on ApplyNow. Steps below assume a Fall 2027 international application.
- Pick your portal. Freshmen file on the Common Application (open since 31 July 2026 for the 2026 to 2027 cycle) or the UCF Undergraduate Application. Master’s and PhD candidates use the UCF Graduate Application only.
- Pay the application fee of USD 30 (around INR 2,873) on the UCF ApplyNow portal or Common App; the fee is non-refundable.
- Send your TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo score through the testing agency using UCF’s institution code 5233.
- Order a course-by-course credential evaluation from WES, Josef Silny, or The Evaluation Company; UCF will not accept transcripts directly from Indian universities.
- Upload supporting documents — Statement of Purpose, CV, LORs (2 to 3), passport bio page, and any programme-specific supplements.
- Submit financial documentation for I-20 issuance once you receive the offer letter, showing at least USD 46,375 (INR 44.40 Lakhs) for a standard graduate programme.
- Await decision — freshmen Early Action decisions land 4 December 2026; graduate decisions arrive within 6 to 8 weeks of a completed file.
University of Central Florida Documents Required
Missing paperwork is the single largest source of Indian application delays at UCF. Assemble this checklist before you file, not after.
- Passport bio page: Valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended course-start date.
- Class X and Class XII mark sheets plus board-issued passing certificates (freshmen).
- Bachelor’s transcripts and degree certificate (PG applicants); a course-by-course WES, Josef Silny, or The Evaluation Company evaluation is mandatory.
- Statement of Purpose of 500 to 1,000 words tailored to your chosen UCF programme.
- Two to three Letters of Recommendation from professors or direct managers, submitted via the portal.
- CV or resume covering academics, projects, publications, and work experience.
- Standardised test score reports — SAT/ACT for freshmen (test-flexible), GRE/GMAT for programmes that require it, and English proficiency for all Indian applicants.
- Financial statement in liquid form (savings, FD, education loan sanction) covering annual costs; must be dated within one year of course start.
- Certified English translations of any non-English document.

Admission Decision Timeline
- Early Action freshmen: Decision by 4 December 2026; response due by 1 May 2027.
- Regular international UG: Rolling decisions from January 2027; enrolment deposit due within 3 weeks of offer.
- Graduate (Fall 2027): Decisions issued on a rolling basis from mid-February; formal acceptance and enrolment deposit due within 4 weeks of the offer letter.
- Deferral policy: Admitted students may request a one-term deferral through UCF Global; automatic deferral is not guaranteed.
UCF Acceptance Rate for Indian Students
UCF admits roughly 24% of international applicants across levels, well below the overall admit rate of 40% that includes domestic Florida students. That gap reflects the state-flagship pipeline favouring in-state candidates, so international competition sits closer to Big Ten peers than to Sunshine State norms.
Programme-Wise Selectivity
- Undergraduate business, engineering, and CS: Admit rates run in the low-20% range for internationals.
- MS Computer Science and MS Data Analytics: Estimated 30 to 40% admit rate for well-prepared Indian applicants.
- Clinical Psychology PhD: Roughly 1.5% admit rate — 291 applications for 4 to 5 seats.
- Executive MBA: Admit rate near 60 to 70% for applicants who meet the 8-year experience floor.
UCF admissions rewards discipline: Indian students who file complete applications 6 weeks before the deadline, secure a mid-band IELTS and 3.3+ GPA, and use the Fall primary intake typically convert to offers with F-1 visas approved in a single try.

Overview
I did not do interviews. Documents required were ACT/SAT scores. I had 3 LORs Good school, good program, great campus, great location, only 2 hours by car from my house Experience was amazing. The professors and heavy workload really helped me prepare for law school. I also learned how to think critically and write analytically

I received a diversity scholarship ($500) and I qualified for several other scholarships but due to the tax bracket my parents were in, I did not receive them

It's been a tremendous journey at UCF for me. I'm really grateful to have joined UCF for my Masters in Computer Science. My specialization is Data Analysis - for which I have good valuable subjects to choose from. The courses can be accessed on the internet directly. There's also a decent Indian community here which would have you involved for several cultural events during festivals or other occasions.

Dislikes
- While the MSCV program at UCF has many advantages, there are also a few potential disadvantages to consider. Competitiveness: Due to its reputation and quality, the program may attract a large number of highly qualified applicants, making the admissions process highly competitive. Workload: The coursework and research requirements of the program can be demanding, requiring a significant time commitment and dedication. Balancing coursework, research projects, and personal commitments can be challenging.
Overview
It is amazing experience getting to know new people collaborating with new friends on projects is overall fun.

Dislikes
- The courses are more aligned towards the Research side and focus less on the tools and technologies used in the industry such as Apache Kafka, Spring Boot, DevOps tools, etc.
- There are no co-op opportunities affiliated with the University of Central Florida such as the one at Northeastern University in Boston.
Overview
My overall experience at UCF was great. UCF is a research university and hence has a rich variety of opportunities for students who want to excel in the field of Computer Science, especially in the field of Computer Vision. The main point of contact for Computer Vision candidates is Dr. Mubarak Shah.

- Academic Programs: UCF offers a wide range of academic programs across various fields of study. Whether it's engineering, business, sciences, arts, or health sciences, UCF provides diverse options for students to pursue their desired majors and interests.
- Reputation and Rankings: UCF has been steadily climbing in national rankings and gaining recognition for its academic excellence and research contributions. Many students are attracted to the university's growing reputation and the opportunities it presents for a quality education.
- Campus Facilities and Resources: UCF boasts modern and well-equipped facilities, including state-of-the-art research labs, libraries, recreational centers, and student organizations. The campus provides a conducive environment for learning, research, and extracurricular activities.
Dislikes
- Large Class Sizes: One common complaint among students at UCF is the large class sizes, especially in introductory courses. With a large student population, some classes can be overcrowded, making it challenging for students to engage with professors and receive individualized attention. This can hinder the learning experience and lead to a sense of disconnection for some students.
- Limited Parking: UCF's parking situation is often a source of frustration for students. The university's rapid growth has resulted in a shortage of parking spaces, leading to difficulties finding a spot, especially during peak hours. This inconvenience can cause stress and delays for students trying to get to class or campus activities.
- Lack of Campus Traditions: While UCF offers a vibrant campus environment, some students feel that the university lacks strong and established campus traditions. Compared to some older and more established institutions, UCF's relatively young age means that it may not have as many longstanding traditions and cultural events that students can participate in and feel connected to. This can lead to a sense of disconnect and a longing for more established university traditions.
Overview
UCF is widely recognized for its academic excellence, diverse campus community, and vibrant student life. Students often appreciate the range of academic programs, research opportunities, and the supportive learning environment offered by UCF.

- Location, ranking, course curriculum were the reasons why I chose University of Central Florida.
- The environment and inclusivity that they provide to the students by giving them the opportunity to express themselves by allowing them to participate in different ways. They also help by providing different resources.
Dislikes
- Nothing in particular to be honest, I think they are doing a great job of providing A one quality of education along with resources. I would say they can try and provide more resources for international students.
Overview
It has been great, I met some great professors who have been greatly involved in teaching and have been very helpful to all the students.
Overview
Only two hours away from home, has a good CSD program. I had to pay a little fee to apply here, but it wasn't a lot! I also applied USF and gained admission, but ultimately chose UCF! I am very happy with my decision, especially after being here for a year and a half! The CSD program has welcomed me and I feel confident in my ability to thrive here.
Scholarship
Florida Bright Futures, UCF grant, Think 30 Scholarships helped me in financial part.
Overview
It wasn't too far from home but far enough and was not nearly expensive as a private school. The application fee was not bad and it was my top choice school so I was committed to getting in. I applied to five colleges and got into four. I was a straight-A student in high school but my SAT score was 1160.
Scholarship
I have used loans and it was not great. They offered me a subsidized loan but then changed the amount and did not tell me. So I last minute has to except a subsidized loan and still have to pay it off.
