University of Texas at Dallas fees for Indian students use United States dollars (USD) and Indian rupees (INR). These figures cover postgraduate and undergraduate routes. Postgraduate (PG) tuition averages USD 30,993-31,368 (INR 29.59-29.95 Lakhs) annually. Undergraduate (UG) tuition averages USD 43,014-43,204 (INR 41.07-41.25 Lakhs) annually. A popular Bachelor of Science in Computer Science annualises to USD 43,109 (INR 41.16 Lakhs) at current rates.

Richardson housing creates the largest non-tuition pressure, so university housing comes first. Published 2026/27 prices start at USD 3,250 (INR 3.10 Lakhs) per semester. The highest selected rate is USD 5,450 (INR 5.20 Lakhs) per semester. Utilities are included. UT Dallas’s latest displayed estimate lists housing and food at USD 15,013-15,125 (INR 14.33-14.44 Lakhs) yearly. No official private-rent range is supplied. Compare lease length, bills, deposits and commute separately.

The two-year Master of Science (MS) in Computer Science totals USD 104,308 (INR 99.58 Lakhs). This uses unchanged current rates. Health insurance, travel and setup remain excluded. The first academic year starts at USD 51,940 (INR 49.59 Lakhs). The high living case reaches USD 53,188 (INR 50.78 Lakhs). Living categories create the difference. Fall 2027 tuition is not published, so Spring 2027 uses the 2026/27 rate.

INR calculations use 1 United States dollar (USD) = INR 95.47 on 28 August 2026, from open.er-api.com.

  • Academic Excellence Scholarship consideration is automatic for admitted freshmen. Awards can reach or exceed full tuition.
  • The optional pre-arrival deposit starts at USD 500 (INR 47,735) and credits the admit semester.
  • University Village 4x2 housing is published at USD 3,250 (INR 3.10 Lakhs) per semester, utilities included.

UT Dallas Fee Trend by Year

No comparable multi-year non-resident archive is supplied, so a defensible year-on-year percentage cannot be calculated.

The 2026/27 published rate supports Spring 2027 planning. UT Dallas has not published the Fall 2027 tuition schedule, so future totals should wait for that release.

  • Fall 2027 cannot use a new tuition figure until UT Dallas publishes it.

Key Insight: Spring 2027 uses the 2026/27 UG benchmark of USD 40,164 (INR 38.34 Lakhs) before supplements. Fall 2027 tuition is pending, so rerun the budget before accepting a later offer.

Keep the current rate for Spring 2027 comparisons, then replace it when UT Dallas publishes the next fee year.

Cost of Living in Richardson for Indian Students

UT Dallas’s annual living range is USD 20,127-21,375 (INR 19.22-20.41 Lakhs) from its latest published categories.

UT Dallas’s international financial requirements use estimated housing, food, books, transport and personal expenses for immigration planning. The displayed estimate is 2025/26, while housing prices separately show 2026/27 rates.

On-campus means university housing. Off-campus means private housing outside the university residence system.

  • University Village publishes the lowest listed 2026/27 room price at USD 3,250 (INR 3.10 Lakhs) per semester.
  • Canyon Creek Heights South lists the highest selected room price at USD 5,450 (INR 5.20 Lakhs) per semester.
  • UT Dallas housing rates include utilities, which changes the private-lease comparison.
  • Fall 2026 to Spring 2027 non-first-year housing options show no availability on the housing portal.
  • No official private-neighbourhood rent range is supplied, so do not treat a listing as an average.
Note: The living table uses the latest displayed 2025/26 estimate. The 2026/27 room rates are separate housing prices, not an updated citywide living estimate.

Use USD 20,751 (INR 19.81 Lakhs) as the midpoint for living planning, then add tuition separately.

Currency Tip: Spring 2027 housing needs an early backup because non-first-year campus options show no availability. For Fall 2027, compare the private lease against University Village’s USD 3,250 (INR 3.10 Lakhs) rate.

Total Cost of Studying at UT Dallas

The MS Computer Science first-year budget is USD 51,940-53,188 (INR 49.59-50.78 Lakhs).

These totals use two graduate terms of tuition and 12 months of living expenses. Mandatory fees include the F-1 visa application and I-901 Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) charges.

  • Tuition covers the first two billed graduate terms at the ECS credit supplement.
  • Living includes housing and food, books, transportation and personal expenses.
  • The optional USD 500 (INR 47,735) deposit is not included in these totals.
  • Health insurance, airfare, housing deposits and setup costs remain excluded.
  • The visa and SEVIS line shows one set of charges. Both are paid before arrival.

Full two-year MS Computer Science tuition is USD 62,271 (INR 59.45 Lakhs). Adding 24 months of average living and USD 535 (INR 51,076) reaches the full-programme budget. It totals USD 104,308 (INR 99.58 Lakhs).

An INR 50 Lakhs education loan has an equated monthly instalment (EMI) of INR 65,000-70,000 monthly. That assumes 10.5% interest over ten years.

Key Insight: Spring 2027 has no published full-payment discount, so scholarship funding is the main controllable saving. A Fall 2027 freshman award could reduce the BS Computer Science annual benchmark by USD 43,109 (INR 41.16 Lakhs), subject to the award letter. Lock funding before the next tuition instalment.

UT Dallas Scholarships for Indian Students

USD 43,109 (INR 41.16 Lakhs) is the annualised BS Computer Science benchmark that a full-tuition award could offset.

UT Dallas assesses some freshman awards automatically, while doctoral fellowships use nomination or programme processes. Amounts depend on the award letter.

UT Dallas Tuition Deposit and Payment Options

USD 500 (INR 47,735) is the recommended optional pre-arrival deposit, not a universal course deposit.

UT Dallas accepts any deposit amount. It recommends at least USD 500 (INR 47,735). The deposit is refunded if the student does not attend. It credits the admit semester.

The deposit adds a remark to Form I-20 for the visa interview. UT Dallas does not publish a fixed Spring 2027 deposit deadline.

Methods of payment

  • Bank transfer: route international wires through Flywire, UT Dallas’s named international payment provider.
  • Flywire: use the provider’s tracking and exchange options for the university payment.
  • Forex card: a provider route can save 2-3% against a raw wire transfer.
  • Education-loan disbursement: align the bank release with the Bursar instalment date.

An INR 50 Lakhs education loan has an EMI of INR 65,000-70,000 monthly. That assumes 10.5% interest over ten years.

Steps to pay the tuition fee for international students

  1. Accept the admission offer in the UT Dallas Applicant Portal.
  2. Pay the optional deposit through the approved payment route.
  3. Request Form I-20 after meeting the international documentation requirements.
  4. Pay the remaining balance through the published instalment schedule.
  5. Keep every payment receipt for the F-1 visa file.

Fall and Spring instalment plans divide tuition, course fees, housing and meals into four payments. The first payment includes a separate USD 25 (INR 2,387) setup and handling fee.

UT Dallas does not publish a full-payment discount in the payment guidance. A short-term payment plan carries a 1.25% origination fee and excludes housing, meal plans and insurance.

Check UT Dallas international admission requirements before paying

Note: December 1, 2026 is the Spring 2027 general graduate application close. Send a Flywire transfer at least five business days before a published Bursar payment deadline.

Hidden Costs of Studying at UT Dallas

  • Spring 2027 graduate applications close December 1, 2026. Fall 2027 freshman scholarship review also closes December 1, 2026.
  • The F-1 student visa application costs USD 185 (INR 17,662).
  • The I-901 SEVIS fee costs USD 350 (INR 33,415).
  • The graduate application fee is USD 75 (INR 7,160). The undergraduate application fee is USD 50 (INR 4,774).

  • The lowest published first housing payment is USD 3,250 (INR 3.10 Lakhs), with utilities included.
  • Health insurance, airfare, household setup, English-test retakes and bank-transfer spreads need separate reserves.

Cash Needed Before Arrival: MS Computer Science requires about USD 4,285 (INR 4.09 Lakhs) before arrival. This covers the optional deposit, visa charges and lowest published first housing payment.

Application fees are separate. Health insurance, airfare, setup, test retakes and tuition balance remain outside it.

Budget approximately INR 4.09-6.19 Lakhs for first-year hidden costs.

Note: The easily missed fixed charge is the USD 350 (INR 33,415) I-901 SEVIS fee. It falls due before the F-1 visa application, alongside the USD 185 (INR 17,662) visa fee.

Fee Saving Strategies for Indian Students

December 1, 2026 is the most urgent funding date for Fall 2027 freshman applicants. Spring 2027 graduate applicants face the same date as the general final deadline.

  • Compare University Village’s utility-inclusive USD 3,250 (INR 3.10 Lakhs) room rate with the full private-lease cost.
  • F-1 students can work up to 20 hours weekly on campus during the academic term.
  • Section 80E of India’s Income Tax Act may allow a deduction for eligible higher-education interest, subject to tax rules.
  • For comparable routes, the ECS and JSOM supplement gap is USD 5 (INR 477) per credit.
  • Optional Practical Training (OPT) can last up to 12 months. Eligible science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) degrees can add a 24-month extension.

The credit gap reaches USD 600 (INR 57,282) across a 120-credit comparison.

Tip for Indian Students: The highest-value saving lever is a full-tuition award. For Fall 2027 Computer Science, that could reduce the annualised benchmark by USD 43,109 (INR 41.16 Lakhs), subject to award terms. Finish the file by December 1, 2026.

Is UT Dallas Worth the Cost for Indian Students

A two-year MS Computer Science budget near INR 99.58 Lakhs supports a STEM degree. UT Dallas reports more than 3,400 student internships in its latest published annual figure.

F-1 graduates can use OPT for up to 12 months. A qualifying STEM degree can add the 24-month extension, creating more time to recover the education cost.

An INR 50 Lakhs loan means about INR 65,000-70,000 monthly EMI at 10.5% over ten years. Test that payment against a confirmed employer offer, because no salary figure is used here.

Read UT Dallas ranking context before comparing value

Key Insight: Spring 2027 is financially sound only with funding proof before the December 1, 2026 final deadline. Fall 2027 becomes stronger when a full-tuition award lowers the annualised Computer Science benchmark by INR 41.16 Lakhs.

Spring 2027 graduate planning starts with a first-year MS Computer Science budget of INR 49.59-50.78 Lakhs. The next freshman route is Fall 2027. December 1, 2026 controls AES consideration. A full award could reduce annual tuition by INR 41.16 Lakhs. An INR 50 Lakhs loan means about INR 65,000-70,000 monthly EMI at 10.5% over ten years. Secure admission, funding proof and Form I-20 before the relevant deadline.

  • I joined few WhatsApp groups to find accommodation near campus
  • Rent was approx. $600 since I opted for a gated community, which is much safer than other places. The kitchen will be equipped with a stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, etc. The house will be air-conditioned and will have laundry machines as well. Most have garages and spaces to park your vehicle. Any repairs will be done by the leasing office staff of the particular community.
  • Always finding accommodation in a new country is challenging. Finding roommates who match your character is the most difficult part. If you are on a budget, then finding a decent place with good reviews is time-consuming. overall if looked at the right places, then you will find a decent place.
  • My recommendation for future students is to find places that are on the route of the college shuttle or public bus. so travel is not an issue. Find accommodation where grocery stores and necessary amenities are near so you can access them without a vehicle. I would suggest go for gated communities since strangers can enter the community easily and much safer.
  • My accommodation was 10 mins away from campus. I usually took the UTD shuttle to travel to campus, which took 15-18 mins to reach campus by going around to pick up students. Most Indians stay in places near campus like estates of Frankford, Marquis at waterview, Ashwood, Estates of Richardson, Pearl at Frankford, MAA housing, etc., which are on the route of the UTD shuttle.

  • I took it off campus. I found the accommodation through a whatsapp and telegram groups.
  • Monthly rent was $1848 plus utilities around $50. Refrigerator, Washer, Dryer, Wi-Fi are available.
  • Trying to find better accommodation with a moderate price which is close to the University. Should be student friendly and a clean environment.
  • It was really competitive to find one for a better price. My advice would be to try to book the apartment at an early stage for a lower price.
  • It takes around 10 minutes from my place to University. Many Indian students have stayed in EOF.

  • I chose to stay off-campus as it was affordable and suitable. There are several places where one can reside off-campus in the Richardson area, including apartments and shared homes. I lived in an apartment with some of my classmates, and this saved us money in addition to having friends around.
  • The apartment facility provided us with everything that we needed, such as a gym, pool, and parking. My rent was around $800/month, which included utilities like Wi-Fi, electricity, and water. Shared accommodations helped reduce costs further.

I chose UTD because of its excellent academic reputation, especially in Computer Science, and also due to the good career opportunities that comes with it as a result of partnerships with leading companies such as Amazon and Verizon. For my career aspirations, it was essential that I am located in USA which is known as hub of technology and innovations. Equally important to my decision was the fact that family members live around and they can provide both personal help as well as academic assistance. The experience has been all encompassing - academics apart; I have taken part in such activities like ACM and playing for their cricket team. A lively student life is what the campus offers; one striking thing about it is that there exists a balance between academic pursuits and social activities.

I chose UTD because the Naveen Jindal School of Management is one of the finest in the country and the courses offered at UTD are really relevant and flexible and that is something that aligned with what I wanted to do. I also chose UTD because of the state of Texas, since there are a lot of Indians as well and cities like Austin and Dallas have plenty of opportunities almost equivalent to the west coast.

I chose this college because it had a good Biotechnology program, good pricing, and this degree is competitive in the job market. Overall, It was a great, enlightening experience where I learned to be independent, make friends, connect with professors and companies, and also where I worked hard and accomplished a lot. Now I have great job offers with good pay and a firm start to my professional life.

I chose this university as it had good ranking for masters in business analytics; most people from the batch got job on time. Overall experience has been pretty positive although the fees is higher if you don’t get a scholarship. So try to score well in GRE and get a scholarship to make it worth.

I submitted 1 SOP, resume 3 LORs for my application. I wrote about my interest in the MSBA program and I linked it to how my professional experience of 1.5 years is relevant to this degree. I also mentioned relevant projects and extracurricular experience. LORs were given by my professors. My resume consisted information about my experience, educations, skills and projects. I was interested in UTD because of the ability to choose courses from various schools. Also, the location of the college is great and gives a homely feeling. I heard good reviews of this particular program and decided to go with it. I chose this program because I had experience with data in my workplace. I liked my work and wanted to explore it. It is a good university with great professors and academic programs. The infrastructure and extracurricular activities are good too. But I would say that it is very expensive without scholarship.

No, there was no interview and or any test. Because, the tuition fee is quite less than other university. Computer Science department has some amazing professors with amazing papers they have worked on and have been working on a lot of recent technologies.
