What to Do in Case of a Paper Clash

A clash happens when two papers of one student fall on the same date and time. The Conduct Branch of Panjab University handles these cases.

The student fills the official clash proforma. It goes in person to the Conduct Branch or by email to datesheet@pu.ac.in. The application must reach within 10 days of the exam. An application without the proforma is rejected.

Clashes with NCC or NSS duties follow the same route. For details, the helpline numbers are 0172-2534810, 0172-2541303 and 0172-2534812.

Clash With Another Exam or a Medical Case

Some students miss a paper due to another university exam, a competitive exam or illness. They email drexams@pu.ac.in with the admit card, the medical proforma and proof. The exam branch first checks if the reason makes the student eligible for a special exam.

Queries on these cases go to 0172-2541066 or 0172-2534825.

PU Exam Hall Rules for December 2026

The university prints the same exam hall rules on every datesheet. Breaking the gadget rule leads to disqualification from the next exams.

• No mobile phone, smart watch, camera, scanner pen or any electronic gadget in the hall.
• Smart glasses, such as Meta frames, are also banned.
• Science students may use coloured pencils for diagrams.
• Geography students may use stencils made of celluloid, tin or plastic. Paper or cardboard stencils are not allowed.

Datesheets can change until the last paper is over. The university posts every change or correction on its official website.
