Banasthali Vidyapith's first-year BTech and MBA payment is ₹3.07 lakh in the 2026–27 A+ group when education, development, standard residence, joining charges, security and miscellaneous charges are included. The ₹1,000 application charge is separate. The annual education fee alone is ₹1.75 lakh, so it does not represent the full residential payment.
Banasthali normally requires students to live in its hostels. The university divides courses into four fee groups and charges development fees in addition to education fees. The amounts below apply to new admissions under the 2026–27 schedule. Continuing students in the same course follow the earlier-batch education-fee condition stated by the university.
Banasthali Course Fee Groups
Education and Development Fees
The education fee depends on the group to which the course belongs. Development fees are annual and vary with the same group. Adding these two components gives the annual academic amount before hostel, campus and other payments.
| Group | Annual education fee | Annual development fee | Combined annual academic fee |
|---|---|---|---|
| A+ | ₹1,75,000 | ₹32,000 | ₹2,07,000 |
| A1 | ₹1,40,000 | ₹24,000 | ₹1,64,000 |
| A2 | ₹1,00,000 | ₹16,000 | ₹1,16,000 |
| A3 | ₹60,000 | ₹9,000 | ₹69,000 |
The difference between A+ and A1 is ₹43,000 a year in these academic components. A2 is ₹48,000 below A1. These comparisons do not include residence because the standard ten-month residential amount is the same in the examples for all four groups.
Courses in A+ and A1
A+ includes BTech, MBA, integrated MBA and the integrated MTech CSE or Mechatronics programmes. These courses use the ₹2.07 lakh annual education-plus-development amount. The course duration then determines how many annual payments apply.
A1 includes BBA and BCA with their honours or research options, integrated law, LLM, MCA, PGDCA, MTech, MDes, MPharm, BArch, BSc Nursing, BPharm and BDes. Their combined annual academic amount is ₹1.64 lakh. A five-year BArch and a two-year MCA therefore share the annual group rate but have different full-course payments.
Courses in A2 and A3
A2 includes the listed BSc and MSc courses, BCom and MCom, BA Journalism and Mass Communication, Social Work, integrated BA BEd and BSc BEd, and Aviation Science. The education and development components together are ₹1.16 lakh annually.
A3 covers BA and MA, MA Journalism and Mass Communication, MEd, Home Science and Food Science and Nutrition options, BEd, the listed engineering diplomas and performing or visual arts courses. Its academic amount is ₹69,000 per year. The course-group listing should be checked for the exact subject, especially where a BSc Home Science option differs from other BSc degrees.
Hostel, Mess and Campus Fees
Ten-Month Residential Breakdown
The standard hostel and campus amount is ₹61,000 for ten months. It includes mess, room rent, electricity and water, and the campus fee. These items are charged in addition to the education and development amounts.
| Residential component | Ten-month amount |
|---|---|
| Mess | ₹21,500 |
| Electricity and water | ₹7,500 |
| Room rent | ₹10,000 |
| Campus fee | ₹22,000 |
| Total | ₹61,000 |
Mess and campus fees together are ₹43,500, while room rent and utilities make up the remaining ₹17,500. The ₹61,000 should therefore be treated as the combined residential-and-campus payment, rather than only the room rent.
Short Stays and Medical Absence
A short hostel stay for purposes such as a project viva or admission is charged at ₹200 per day. The same daily charge applies for an overstay beyond the standard ten months. The amount depends on the actual number of additional days.
Where a student is absent from the hostel for more than 15 days on valid medical grounds with authorised permission, the Vice Chancellor may consider a mess rebate. The university considers this at the end of the session. The rule does not provide a general rebate on all residential components for any absence.
First-Year Fees by Course Group
Joining Charges and Refundable Security
New students pay a one-time hostel admission charge of ₹5,000. The course admission charge is ₹10,000 for A+, ₹8,000 for A1, ₹5,000 for A2 and ₹2,000 for A3. The ₹20,000 security deposit is refundable under the university's rules.
| First-year component | A+ | A1 | A2 | A3 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Education and development | ₹2,07,000 | ₹1,64,000 | ₹1,16,000 | ₹69,000 |
| Ten-month residence and campus fee | ₹61,000 | ₹61,000 | ₹61,000 | ₹61,000 |
| Course admission, once | ₹10,000 | ₹8,000 | ₹5,000 | ₹2,000 |
| Hostel admission, once | ₹5,000 | ₹5,000 | ₹5,000 | ₹5,000 |
| Refundable security, once | ₹20,000 | ₹20,000 | ₹20,000 | ₹20,000 |
| Miscellaneous charges | ₹4,000 | ₹4,000 | ₹4,000 | ₹4,000 |
| First-year example, excluding application | ₹3,07,000 | ₹2,62,000 | ₹2,11,000 | ₹1,61,000 |
The miscellaneous amount covers enrolment, eligibility, identity-card and examination-related items listed by the university. Certain part-time certificate and diploma courses have separate examination fees. Students taking an additional course should therefore check its own payment requirement.
BTech, BBA and BSc Examples
A BTech student in A+ pays ₹2.07 lakh in annual academic fees and ₹61,000 for standard residence. These recurring components total ₹2.68 lakh. Adding ₹39,000 in the listed first-year joining, security and miscellaneous items gives ₹3.07 lakh.
A BBA or BCA student in A1 has ₹2.25 lakh in annual academic and residential components. The corresponding first-year total is ₹2.62 lakh. A BSc course in A2 has ₹1.77 lakh in those annual components and a ₹2.11 lakh first-year example. The full first-year amount should not be multiplied by the course duration because it contains one-time payments.
Instalments and Continuing-Student Fees
Two Equal Instalments
Education, development, mess, room rent, electricity and water, and campus fees are payable in two equal instalments for the regular domestic category. The first is due at admission and the second by 30 November 2026 for that session. Joining charges and deposits are added as applicable.
| Group | Annual academic and residential components | Each half-year instalment of those components |
|---|---|---|
| A+ | ₹2,68,000 | ₹1,34,000 |
| A1 | ₹2,25,000 | ₹1,12,500 |
| A2 | ₹1,77,000 | ₹88,500 |
| A3 | ₹1,30,000 | ₹65,000 |
These instalment calculations exclude one-time course admission, hostel admission, refundable security and miscellaneous payments. The first payment can therefore be higher than the half-year figure. The university's fee demand sets out the complete amount due at each stage.
Students Moving to a New Degree
Students continuing the same undergraduate or postgraduate course pay the education fee under the previous schedule identified by the university. A student moving from Class 12 to an undergraduate course, or from an undergraduate degree to a postgraduate degree, is treated as a new student for education-fee purposes.
This distinction matters for Banasthali students who remain on campus while changing degree level. Their earlier education-fee rate does not automatically carry into the new course. The new programme's fee group and the applicable intake schedule determine the payment.
Security Refund and Optional Charges
The ₹20,000 security deposit is refunded three months after leaving Banasthali, subject to the prescribed refund application and university conditions. Students should submit the required form rather than assume that the payment is returned automatically when the course ends.
The university also describes an optional shared-computer facility in the specified postgraduate hostels. Students using it pay a separate ₹5,000 interest-free refundable security deposit. This is a facility-specific payment, not a compulsory additional deposit for every hostel resident.
Aviation Science students pay flying charges separately to the university's flying club. The stated approximate rate is ₹12,000 per flying hour and is subject to change. Actual flying hours therefore affect the amount payable beyond the ordinary course-group fee. The academic fee for Aviation Science does not cover an assumed fixed number of flying hours.
NRI and Foreign-Student Fees
The university gives annual education fees in US dollars for Foreign, NRI and NRI-sponsored applicants. These are separate from the regular rupee education rates and do not represent the whole residential payment.
| Course group | Annual education fee for the stated category |
|---|---|
| A+ | USD 4,150 |
| A1 | USD 3,450 |
| A2 | USD 2,700 |
| A3 | USD 1,900 |
Foreign and NRI-category students must pay the full fee at admission under the university's stated terms. The ordinary two-instalment provision does not apply to them. Development, residence, deposits and other items follow the complete category-specific fee demand.
Banasthali Scholarships and Financial Assistance
Merit and Merit-Cum-Need Awards
Banasthali's financial-assistance information lists university merit scholarships and merit-cum-need awards. Some awards recognise students standing first or second in Banasthali's own qualifying examinations, while others support students based on both academic performance and financial need. The eligibility is specific to the award and should not be read as a blanket entrance concession.
The university's scholarship list includes annual awards of ₹5,000 and ₹10,000 in several categories. It also lists support for daughters of hostel wardens and daughters of Kargil martyrs under their respective conditions. Because the scholarship list is not a fresh 2027 award notification, students need the current award decision and availability from the university.
Government and Donor Scholarships
The Banasthali scholarship information also includes government and donor-funded support. Government schemes depend on domicile, category, income and the rules of the relevant state or department. Some donor awards are limited to particular courses or student circumstances.
An approved scholarship reduces only the components and period covered by its award. Students should keep the scholarship approval with their fee records so that the concession can be matched to the balance payable. Refundable security and optional flying or computer payments should remain separately identified in the university account.
