NCET 2027 (National Common Entrance Test) is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to the 4-year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) at central universities, state universities, and institutions approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). The application form is available at ncet.samarth.ac.in. You register online, fill in personal and academic details, select your domain subject, upload your photo and signature, pay the fee, and download the Confirmation Page before the last date. ITEP leads to a B.A. B.Ed, B.Sc. B.Ed, or B.Com. B.Ed degree and was introduced under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 to train school teachers starting from the undergraduate level.
NCET 2027 is for students who passed Class 12 in 2025 or 2026, or who are appearing in Class 12 in 2027, from any stream. NTA has not released the official NCET 2027 notification as of October 2026. Based on the NCET 2025 and 2026 cycles, the registration window is expected to open in January 2027 and the exam is expected in May 2027.
- NCET 2027 Application Form: Expected to open in January 2027 (Tentative). Visit ncet.samarth.ac.in for the official notification when released by NTA.
- NCET 2027 Exam Date: Expected in May 2027 (Tentative) in computer-based mode at exam centres across India. NTA will confirm the schedule in the official information bulletin.
- NCET 2027 Application Fee: Expected at INR 800 for General, OBC-NCL, and EWS and INR 400 for SC, ST, and PwD candidates (Tentative, based on the 2026 cycle). Confirm the exact fee in the official bulletin before you pay.
- NCET 2027 is for the 4-year ITEP programme, not the standalone 2-year B.Ed. Students who want to teach at the school level after Class 12 apply through NCET.
- Students from all Class 12 streams — Science, Commerce, and Humanities — are eligible. The domain subject you appear for in the exam depends on the subjects you studied in Class 12.
- NTA conducts NCET as a computer-based test in English and 13 Indian regional languages. You choose the exam language when filling the application form.
- There is no upper age limit for NCET 2027 as per NTA’s eligibility conditions. The minimum eligibility is 50% marks in Class 12 (45% for SC, ST, and PwD).
- NTA sends your Application Number and Password to your registered mobile and email after the first registration step. Keep these details safe for every future login.

Eligibility to Apply for NCET 2027
Check that you meet NTA’s eligibility conditions before you start filling the application form. If you apply without meeting the eligibility, your candidature can be cancelled during ITEP counselling and the fee is not refunded.
| Criteria | Condition |
|---|---|
| Qualifying exam | Class 12 (10+2) or equivalent from a recognized board |
| Streams accepted | Science, Commerce, and Humanities — all streams |
| Year of passing | 2025 or 2026, or appearing in Class 12 in 2027 |
| Minimum marks: General, OBC-NCL, EWS | 50% in aggregate |
| Minimum marks: SC, ST, PwD | 45% in aggregate |
| Upper age limit | No upper age limit as per NTA (state-specific limits may apply at participating institutions) |
| Number of attempts | No restriction specified; confirm in the official NCET 2027 bulletin |
Important Eligibility Points
- Class 12 students appearing in 2027 boards can apply for NCET 2027. They must submit the passing certificate and final marksheet at counselling. If the final marks fall below 50% (or 45% for SC/ST/PwD), the seat offer is cancelled.
- Your Class 12 stream determines the domain subject you attempt in the NCET exam. A student who studied Mathematics in Class 12 can opt for Mathematics as the domain; one who studied History can opt for History. You select the domain during the application.
- Students who passed Class 12 in 2024 or earlier are not eligible for NCET 2027. The programme is open only to the 2025, 2026, and 2027 batches. Confirm this in the official NTA information bulletin before applying.
- ITEP is a 4-year programme. It is different from the 2-year B.Ed you join after a bachelor’s degree. NCET is only for students entering directly after Class 12 who want to pursue the integrated teaching degree.
How to Fill the NCET 2027 Application Form: Step-by-Step
The entire NCET 2027 application process is online at ncet.samarth.ac.in. There are five stages. Keep your Class 10 and 12 documents, a recent photograph, a scanned signature, and your payment details ready before you begin. An incomplete or unpaid form is not accepted by NTA.
Step 1: New Candidate Registration
If you are applying for NCET for the first time, create a new account. Candidates who applied in a previous NCET cycle can log in with their existing credentials.
- Go to ncet.samarth.ac.in and click Apply Online or New Candidate Registration.
- Enter your name exactly as it appears in your Class 10 certificate.
- Enter your date of birth, email address, and mobile number.
- Enter your Aadhaar number. This is mandatory for Indian nationals.
- Set a password and click Submit.
- NTA sends your Application Number and Password to your registered mobile and email immediately.
- Write down your Application Number before moving to the next step. You need it for every login. NTA does not allow recovery using email alone.
Important: Enter your name exactly as printed on your Class 10 certificate. A missing middle name, a shortened surname, or a spelling difference will cause a mismatch during document verification at ITEP counselling, and your seat can be cancelled.
Step 2: Fill the Application Form
Log in with your Application Number and Password to complete the main form. This has three parts: personal details, academic details, and exam preferences.
Personal details:
- Full name, gender, date of birth, and nationality
- Father’s name and mother’s name
- Aadhaar number (Indian nationals) or Passport number (foreign nationals)
- Permanent address and correspondence address
- Category: General, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, or EWS
- PwD status (if you hold a disability certificate)
Academic details:
- Class 12 board name, roll number (if already appeared), and year of passing
- Class 12 subjects, particularly the optional subjects you studied
- Class 10 board name, roll number, and year of passing
- If your Class 12 result is awaited, enter your Class 11 or pre-board marks as the qualifying marks. You must submit the actual Class 12 marksheet at counselling.
Exam preferences:
- Select the domain subject you want to appear for in the NCET exam. This must be a subject you studied in Class 12.
- Choose the medium of the exam: English or one of the 13 regional languages (Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu).
- Select four exam city preferences in order. NTA allocates the exam centre from the available options in your preferred city or the nearest one.
Save after every section. Closing the browser without saving discards all unsaved entries.
Step 3: Upload Photograph and Signature
Upload a recent passport-size photograph and a scanned signature in JPG or JPEG format. Both files must meet NTA’s size and quality specifications before the portal allows you to proceed to the payment step. See the Photo and Signature Upload Specifications section below for the exact requirements.
Step 4: Pay the Application Fee
- Select a payment method: UPI, debit card, credit card, or net banking.
- Complete the payment on the bank’s secure page.
- Wait for the payment confirmation screen on ncet.samarth.ac.in before closing the browser or the tab.
- If the amount is deducted but the confirmation screen does not appear, do not pay again. Log back in after 48 hours and check your application status. See the FAQs section for what to do if the status still shows as incomplete.
Step 5: Download the Confirmation Page
After successful payment, NTA generates a Confirmation Page with your Application Number and submitted details. This confirms your application is complete.
- Download the PDF Confirmation Page immediately from ncet.samarth.ac.in.
- Print a copy and keep it with your documents. NTA does not send it by post or email.
- Carry the Confirmation Page to the exam centre on exam day along with your admit card.
NCET 2027 Application Fee
NTA has not announced the NCET 2027 application fee. The table below is based on the NCET 2026 fee structure. NTA will confirm the exact 2027 fee in the official information bulletin at ncet.samarth.ac.in. Do not pay before the official bulletin is published.
| Category | Application Fee (Tentative) |
|---|---|
| General, OBC-NCL, EWS | INR 800 |
| SC, ST | INR 400 |
| PwD, Transgender | INR 400 |
Note: These figures are based on the NCET 2026 fee structure and are tentative for 2027. Confirm the exact fee in the official NTA information bulletin before you pay.
Important Points About the NCET 2027 Fee
- The application fee is non-refundable under any circumstance, including if you miss the exam, withdraw your application, or are found ineligible at ITEP counselling.
- Pay only through the official payment gateway at ncet.samarth.ac.in. NTA does not authorise any agent, coaching centre, or third-party website to collect NCET fees on its behalf. Any payment made outside the official portal is a scam.
- If payment is deducted and the Confirmation Page does not appear, wait 48 hours before paying again. Check your application status by logging into ncet.samarth.ac.in. If the fee is reflected as paid, your application is complete. If it remains incomplete after 48 hours, contact the NTA helpdesk with your bank transaction reference number.
- Keep your payment receipt or bank transaction reference number safely until your ITEP counselling is complete.
Accepted Payment Methods
- UPI (Google Pay, PhonePe, BHIM, Paytm)
- Debit card (Visa, Mastercard, RuPay)
- Credit card
- Net banking
Documents Required for NCET 2027
During the online application, you upload only your photograph and signature. You enter the details from your other documents in the form fields. Keep originals and self-attested photocopies of all documents ready for verification at ITEP counselling after the result is declared. Missing a document at counselling can delay your seat allotment.
| Document | When Needed | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Aadhaar card | Online registration | Mandatory identity proof for Indian nationals; enter the Aadhaar number at first registration |
| Class 10 mark certificate or passing certificate | Form filling and counselling | Date of birth proof and name as per official records |
| Class 12 marksheet (or admit card if results awaited) | Form filling and counselling | Qualifying exam marks and list of subjects studied |
| Category certificate: SC, ST, OBC-NCL, or EWS | Form filling and counselling | Category claim during application; original required at counselling |
| PwD certificate (if applicable) | Form filling and counselling | Disability status; original required at counselling for fee concession and reserved seat |
| Passport-size photograph | Upload during application | Photo upload in JPG format (specifications below) |
| Scanned signature | Upload during application | Signature upload in JPG format (specifications below) |
| Passport (foreign nationals only) | Online registration | Identity proof in place of Aadhaar for non-Indian candidates |
Category Certificate: What Is Accepted
- SC and ST: Certificate issued by the Tehsildar, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, or District Magistrate of your home district.
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): Certificate in the Central Government format. Must not be older than the financial year in which you apply. A certificate from the previous financial year is not accepted at counselling.
- EWS: Income and asset certificate from the current financial year, issued by the Tehsildar or SDM. A Gazetted Officer’s certificate is not accepted for EWS claims.
Photo and Signature Upload Specifications
The photo and signature are the two files you upload during the NCET 2027 application. A file that is outside the size or format limit is rejected at the upload step and the form does not let you proceed to payment. Check both files against the requirements below before you upload.
| Document | Format | File Size | Key Requirements |
|---|---|---|---|
| Photograph | JPG or JPEG only | 10 KB to 200 KB | Taken within the last 3 months; white or plain light background; full face and both ears visible; no sunglasses or tinted glasses; no cap (religious headgear allowed if worn daily); candidate’s name and the date the photo was taken printed at the bottom |
| Signature | JPG or JPEG only | 4 KB to 30 KB | Candidate’s own signature in black or blue ink on white paper; not a printed name or typed text; only the signature on the paper, nothing else |
How to Prepare Your Photograph
- Take a fresh colour passport-size photo against a plain white or off-white background. Do not use an old school ID card photo or crop yourself from a group photograph.
- Write your name and the date the photo was taken at the bottom of the physical print, then scan or photograph it and save as JPEG. The exam centre officer checks this during identity verification.
- If the file exceeds 200 KB, reduce the scan resolution or use a free image compression tool. Make sure the face remains sharp and the background stays clearly white after compression. A blurry or dark photo will be rejected at the portal and again at the exam centre.
- Photographs with a coloured, patterned, or studio-grey background are rejected. If your photo has any colour in the background, take a fresh one.
How to Prepare Your Signature
- Sign on a clean white sheet of A4 paper with a black or blue ballpoint pen. Write only the signature, with nothing else on the sheet.
- Scan or photograph the signed sheet, crop it to show only the signature with a small white border, and save as JPEG. The file must be between 4 KB and 30 KB.
- Do not use a stamp, a printed name, or a digital signature. NTA compares the uploaded signature against the one you provide at the exam centre and at counselling. A mismatch is flagged and can delay your admission.
NCET 2027 Application Form Correction Window
NTA opens a correction window after the main registration deadline closes. During this period, you can change certain details in your submitted application. The window is open for a limited number of days only. NTA will announce the exact dates at ncet.samarth.ac.in. No changes are accepted after the correction window closes, and no extension is given.
What You Can Correct
- Photograph and signature (if NTA flags them as not meeting specifications)
- Personal details such as name, date of birth, and gender (with supporting documents ready for verification at counselling)
- Category (if you selected the wrong one, have the correct certificate ready at counselling)
- Class 12 board name and roll number
- Domain subject selection
- Exam city preferences
- Medium of exam
What You Cannot Change After Final Submission
- Application Number assigned during registration
- Mobile number and email used at first registration
- Fee paid (no refund, no transfer, no adjustment to another application)
Log in to ncet.samarth.ac.in as soon as the correction window opens. Keep all corrected documents ready before you begin editing. The portal can close without advance notice once the window ends. Fill the form carefully the first time so you do not have to depend on the correction window.

Ques. What is ITEP and how is it different from the regular 2-year B.Ed?
Ans. ITEP (Integrated Teacher Education Programme) is a 4-year degree programme that combines an undergraduate degree with a B.Ed. You join it directly after Class 12. A regular B.Ed is a 2-year course you join after completing a 3-year bachelor’s degree. ITEP leads to a B.A. B.Ed, B.Sc. B.Ed, or B.Com. B.Ed degree and was introduced under the National Education Policy 2020. From 2030 onwards, only ITEP graduates will be eligible to teach in schools, as per NEP guidelines.
Ques. What is the NCET 2027 application fee for general category candidates?
Ans. Based on the NCET 2026 cycle, the fee for General, OBC-NCL, and EWS candidates is expected to be INR 800. For SC, ST, and PwD candidates, the fee is expected to be INR 400. NTA will confirm the exact 2027 fee in the official information bulletin at ncet.samarth.ac.in before the form opens. Do not pay based on any figure that is not in the official bulletin.
Ques. Can I apply for NCET 2027 if I am from the Commerce stream?
Ans. Yes. NCET 2027 is open to students from all Class 12 streams, including Commerce. Your domain subject in the NCET exam must be a subject you studied in Class 12. Commerce stream students can choose subjects such as Accountancy, Business Studies, or Economics as their domain subject, depending on what is available in the 2027 exam. Check the official NCET 2027 bulletin at ncet.samarth.ac.in for the full list of domain subjects when it is released.
Ques. Can Class 12 students appearing in the 2027 board exam apply for NCET 2027?
Ans. Yes. Students appearing in Class 12 in 2027 can apply for NCET 2027. During the application, enter your Class 11 final exam marks or pre-board marks in the qualifying marks field. You must submit your actual Class 12 marksheet and passing certificate at ITEP counselling. If your final marks are below 50% (or 45% for SC/ST/PwD), your seat offer will be cancelled.
Ques. Is Aadhaar mandatory for NCET 2027 registration?
Ans. Yes. Aadhaar is mandatory for Indian nationals applying for NCET 2027. You enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number during the first registration step on ncet.samarth.ac.in. Foreign nationals can use their Passport number instead. The name in your Aadhaar must match your Class 10 certificate. If they do not match, get the Aadhaar details corrected before you apply.
Ques. My fee was deducted but I did not receive a Confirmation Page. What should I do?
Ans. Do not pay again immediately. Log in to ncet.samarth.ac.in after 48 hours and check your application status. If the payment is shown as successful, download the Confirmation Page from your dashboard. If the application still shows as incomplete after 48 hours, contact the NTA helpdesk with your bank transaction reference number. Amounts deducted for failed transactions are typically reversed to your account within 7 to 10 working days.
Ques. Is the NCET 2027 application fee refundable?
Ans. No. The NCET 2027 application fee is non-refundable under any condition. This applies even if you miss the exam, withdraw your application after submission, or are found ineligible during document verification at ITEP counselling. Pay the fee only after confirming you meet the eligibility and you intend to appear for the exam.
Ques. Can I change my domain subject or exam city after submitting the NCET 2027 form?
Ans. Yes, but only during the correction window that NTA opens after the main registration deadline. You can change your domain subject, exam city preferences, and exam medium during this window. After the correction window closes, no changes are allowed. NTA announces the correction window dates at ncet.samarth.ac.in. Watch the portal so you do not miss the window.
Ques. What photo specifications does NTA require for NCET 2027?
Ans. NTA requires a recent passport-size photograph in JPG or JPEG format, between 10 KB and 200 KB in file size. The background must be white or plain light. Your full face and both ears must be clearly visible. Sunglasses and caps are not allowed (religious headgear is permitted if worn daily). Your name and the date the photo was taken must be printed at the bottom. A photo that does not meet these specifications will be rejected at the upload step.
Ques. What documents do I need to bring to the NCET 2027 exam centre?
Ans. Carry your NCET 2027 admit card downloaded from ncet.samarth.ac.in and a valid government-issued photo ID such as your Aadhaar card or passport. Print the admit card on A4 paper. Carrying a copy of the Confirmation Page is also recommended. Check the admit card itself for any additional items NTA specifies for exam day in 2027, as requirements can be updated in the official notice.
Ques. How many ITEP seats are available through NCET 2027, and which universities participate?
Ans. The number of ITEP seats and the list of participating universities is published by NTA in the official NCET 2027 information bulletin at ncet.samarth.ac.in. Participating institutions include central universities, state universities, and Regional Institutes of Education under NCERT that offer the 4-year ITEP programme.
