Age Limit for AP EAPCET 2027

AP EAPCET 2027 does not impose any upper age limit for any stream — Engineering, Agriculture or Pharmacy. Students of any age who meet the academic qualification criteria can apply. APSCHE has also not set a minimum age requirement in its official eligibility norms.

Students who passed Class 12 in 2025 or 2026, or who are appearing in the 2027 board examinations, are all eligible to apply for AP EAPCET 2027 without any age-based restriction.

Academic Qualification for AP EAPCET 2027

To appear in AP EAPCET 2027, you must have passed or be appearing in Class 12 (Intermediate or 10+2) from a recognized board such as BIEAP, CBSE, ICSE or any equivalent state board.

  • Students currently in Class 12 (appearing in 2027 board exams) are eligible to apply.
  • Students who passed Class 12 in 2025 or 2026 can also appear for AP EAPCET 2027.
  • Admission during counselling is confirmed only after you pass Class 12 with the required marks — provisional admission is cancelled if you fail the qualifying exam.
  • The degree programme you can apply for depends on the stream you choose in AP EAPCET (Engineering, Agriculture or Pharmacy).

Subject Requirements by Stream

AP EAPCET has three streams and the mandatory Class 12 subjects differ for each. Check which stream you are applying for before verifying your subject combination.

Stream Mandatory Subjects in Class 12
Engineering (E) Physics and Mathematics (compulsory); plus any one of Chemistry, Biotechnology, Computer Science or Electronics
Agriculture (AG) Biology / Botany / Zoology and Chemistry; or Agriculture as a subject
Pharmacy (AM) Physics and Chemistry; plus Mathematics or Biology / Botany / Zoology

Mathematics in Class 12 is a hard requirement for the Engineering stream and there is no relaxation. Students applying for Agriculture and Pharmacy streams can use Biology or its equivalents in place of Mathematics.

Qualifying Marks in Class 12 for AP EAPCET 2027

You need a minimum of 45% aggregate marks in the relevant Class 12 subjects to be eligible for AP EAPCET 2027. SC and ST students need a minimum of 40% aggregate in the same subject group.

Category Minimum Marks in Relevant Class 12 Subjects
General / OBC / EWS 45% aggregate
SC / ST 40% aggregate

This percentage is calculated on the aggregate of the relevant subjects only — for example, Physics + Mathematics + Chemistry for Engineering — and not on your overall Class 12 percentage. Check your subject-specific aggregate and not just the overall Class 12 result before applying. Students who do not meet this threshold after their board results are declared will be disqualified from counselling.

Number of Attempts for AP EAPCET 2027

APSCHE does not place any restriction on the number of times a student can appear for AP EAPCET. You can attempt the exam every year as long as you meet the academic eligibility requirements at the time of application. There is no cap such as a maximum of three or five attempts as seen in some other national entrance exams.

Keep in mind that an AP EAPCET rank is valid only for the year in which you clear the exam. A rank from 2025 or 2026 cannot be used for AP EAPCET 2027 admissions — you must appear fresh and earn a new rank for the 2027 cycle.

Domicile and Nationality Criteria

Only Indian nationals can appear for AP EAPCET 2027. The domicile requirement means you must qualify as a local candidate of Andhra Pradesh. APSCHE defines a local candidate as someone who:

  • Has studied in educational institutions in Andhra Pradesh for at least seven years between Classes 6 and 12, or
  • Has a parent who is a local candidate of AP and has studied in AP for not less than seven years, or
  • Has a parent who is a government or public sector employee transferred to AP from another state.

Students from outside Andhra Pradesh may apply under the non-local candidate quota. Seats under this quota are limited and vary across institutions. Check the AP EAPCET 2027 information bulletin for the exact percentage of seats reserved for non-local students at each college.
