Punjab Scholarship 2021 Latest Update:

Punjab Scholarship is introduced by the state government of Punjab. It is specially designed for meritorious students from low-income SC or OBC families. Under this scheme, the state provides financial support to deserving students from the SC and OBC community to pursue further education after the 10th standard. The Scholarship is not only limited to high school but also extends up to college.

SC or OBC students pursuing any recognized post-matriculation or post-secondary courses are eligible for this Scholarship.

According to new regulations, this Scholarship applies to people from Punjab residing in any other country. The application period usually starts in August and ends in December

Recent changes were made for the session 2020-21 for Punjab students residing out of state. According to the new guidelines, the students can also apply for the Scholarship by downloading Performa and applying manually. The last date for the online application by the student was on 15th February 2021. Currently, the portal has been closed for submissions for the year 2021.

Punjab Scholarship 2021 How to Apply?

  • You can apply online by filling up the form on the official website
  • Need to register on this website by providing relevant information.
  • On completion of this, the website will provide you with your unique ID and Password.
  • Go to the scholarship portal and enter these credentials to log into your account and start your Application for Punjab Scholarship.
  • Here you have to upload the necessary document proofs.
  • After submitting the documents, the application process is completed.
  • Get a printout of this application form and get it verified by your school.

  • Self-attested photos of the caste certificate
  • An income declaration by parents or guardians

During the waiting period for confirmation, students can quickly check the status of their applications. 

  • First, go to the scholarship portal on the Punjab Scholarship website to check their application status. 
  • Log in to the dashboard using ID and password.
  • After logging in, click on the Track Status to check the status of your application.

Punjab Scholarship 2021 Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility criteria for SC

  • Students whose total family income does not exceed INR 2,50,000 per annum are eligible to apply for this Scholarship.
  • Only those who have passed Matriculation or Higher Secondary or any other equivalent exams from a recognized University or Secondary Education board are considered eligible.
  • The Scholarship can be received by students living in Punjab or residents of Punjab who are out of state. The candidate must have citizenship proof.
  • Students pursuing any “recognized post-matriculation or post-secondary courses” can apply for the Scholarship. Training courses like AircraftMaintenance Courses, Private Pilot license Courses, training courses at the Military College, etc., are considered exceptions.
  • If the candidate has completed their education in one professional field but wishes to continue in another, they will not be eligible.
  • Students who are currently in high school cannot apply. It is only for those who opted for professional courses after the 10th.
  • Only medical students pursuing post-graduation can apply, given they do not practice outside during the duration of their course.
  • Siblings can all benefit from the scheme as everyone is allowed to apply without discrimination.

Eligibility criteria for OBC

  • Students whose total family income from all sources does not exceed INR 1,00,000 per annum are eligible to apply for this Scholarship.
  • Only those who have passed Matriculation or Higher Secondary or any other equivalent exams from a recognized University or Secondary Education board are considered eligible.
  • The Scholarship can be received by OBC students whose certificates are registered in the state of Punjab. According to new guidelines, they may or may not be a resident of Punjab at the moment. However, the candidate must have citizenship proof.
  • Students pursuing any “recognized post-matriculation or post-secondary courses” can apply for the Scholarship. Training courses like Aircraft Maintenance Courses, Private Pilot license Courses, training courses at the Military College, etc., are considered exceptions.
  • Students who are currently in high school cannot apply. It is only for those who opted for professional courses after the 10th.
  • Only medical students pursuing post-graduation can apply, given they do not practice outside during the duration of their course.
  • Students who are opting for a correspondence course can also apply for this. They are entitled to receive a yearly allowance of Rs. 900/-.
  • Up to two sons of the same parents can apply for the Scholarship. There are no such restrictions in the case of girls.
