Developed by the All India Council for Technical Education, the Pragati Scholarship is a government-sponsored scholarship program (AICTE). Every year, a total of 5,000 scholarships are awarded to deserving girl students who wish to pursue a technical degree as part of this scholarship program. Every year, the scholarship winners are awarded a sum of INR 50,000 per annum, which is divided into 12 equal installments. Since its debut in the academic year 2014-15, the Pragati Scholarship program has provided financial assistance to thousands of girl students.

This scheme is being developed by the AICTE with the goal of assisting girls seeking technical education in their advancement is being implemented. In order for women to engage fully in the development process, education is one of the most significant strategies of equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and self-confidence that they require. Efforts are being made to provide young women with the opportunity to further their education and prepare for a prosperous future through "Empowering Women through Technical Education."

The Pragati Scholarship is announced on a yearly basis, with the exact date varying from year to year.

Pragati Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

In order to be eligible for the Pragati Scholarship, girl candidates must be enrolled in a college or institution that has been authorized by the AICTE. The eligibility conditions for the AICTE Pragati Scholarship are detailed in the section below.

• Admission to the first year or second year (via lateral entry only) of a technical diploma/degree program at an AICTE-accredited college/institute in the current academic year must have been obtained through the centralized admission process of the state/central government.
• The award is open to two girls per household who are eligible to apply.
• It is necessary that the applicant's annual household income does not exceed INR 8 lakh during the preceding financial year. If the applicant is married, the income of the applicant's parents or in-laws is taken into consideration, whichever is larger. 

Other Terms and Conditions:

• There should be no more than two years of gap between the year of passing the qualifying examination and the session of acceptance into the diploma program.
• Applications will be accepted once a year via the National e-Scholarship Portal of the Indian government.
• If a student is in the reserved category and if she receives a scholarship under the general category, she will be counted under the General Category.
• Incomplete applications will be rejected outright. Only legitimate online applications are accepted and will be evaluated for a scholarship award
• If a candidate fails/drops out in the next year, she will be ineligible for further consideration for the scholarship.
• The scholarship is granted on the condition that the student does not receive any other financial assistance in the form of scholarships/emoluments, wages, stipends, and so on from any other source during her time at the Institute. In the event that you receive any financial aid from another source, the scholarship will be canceled. The entire scholarship fee must be refunded to AICTE by D/Draft drafted in the name of the “Member Secretary, AICTE,” payable in New Delhi.
• The AICTE will execute and supervise the scheme.
• To convert Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) to percentage, multiply by 9.5, i.e. to convert CGPA to percentage, multiply CGPA by 9.5.
• If both CGPA and total marks are listed on the mark sheet, total marks shall be considered when calculating a percentage
• On the mark sheet, if grades such as A1, A2, B1, B2, and so on are given, the grades shall be translated to CGPA, and then the average CGPA determined This CGPA is going to be translated to a percentage as specified in point No. 8
• The AICTE web page will be updated with a preliminary list of candidates who have been shortlisted. If a candidate has any questions about the scholarship merit list, they may ask them. Within a month, file your grievances. After one month from the date of publication of the merit list on the AICTE website, no queries regarding the merit list will be entertained.
• Concerns about non-payment of the scholarship due to an invalid/incorrect account number shall be entertained only for a period of six months from the date of publication of the merit list on the website of the AICTE.

Pragati Scholarship Benefits

There are a total of 5,000 scholarships available under the AICTE Pragati Scholarship program for girl scholars. Following are the specifics of the Pragati Scholarship award, including the money awarded.

As lump sum money, the selected students receive INR 50,000 per annum for each year of studies, which they can put towards: 

• Payment of college fees
• For the purpose of purchasing books
• For purchase of equipment
• For purchase of desktops
• For purchase of laptops and software

How to Apply for Pragati Scholarship? 

The Pragati scholarship application form can be completed using the NSP Portal, which is provided by the AICTE to assist applicants in the application process. Filling out the application form is simple if you follow the procedures outlined below.

• First and first, candidates must create an account on the NSP Portal by clicking on the 'New Registration' option on the homepage.
• Read the registration rules carefully and complete all of the required fields to finish the register.
• Following successful registration, candidates will receive an application ID and password by text message to the cellphone number they provided during registration.
• In order to complete the Pragati application form, candidates must enter into the NSP Portal with their application ID and password, which they received via email.
• In order to proceed, the candidates will be required to reset their password (a mandatory step).
• After that, the applicants must complete the scholarship application form, which may be found here.
• Candidates must submit the application form together with scanned copies of the needed documents and later submit the application form.

Documents Required: 

While filling out the Pragati Scholarship application form, applicants must have a few documents with them in order to complete the process successfully. To complete the application process, candidates must upload scanned copies of the documents listed below to their online application.

• Mark sheet of 10th grade
• Mark sheet of 12thgrade
• The annual family income certificate of the previous financial year, in the appropriate prescribed format, is signed by the Tehsildar or other higher-ranking competent official.
• Admission letter from the Centralized Admission Authority for first-year Degree/Diploma programs for the current academic year.
• The receipt for the tuition fee that has been paid for the current academic year.
• Applicant’s name, account number, IFSC code, and photo pasted at an appropriate place on an Aadhaar-seeded bank passbook with the bank's rubber stamp affixed to it, along with the signature of the Manager
• Certificate provided by the Director, Principal, or Head of Department in accordance with the approved format
• If the applicant is applying for the SC/ST/OBC categories, an attested copy of the applicant's caste certificate is required.
• A duly signed declaration by the applicant's parents in accordance with the prescribed format, which states that the information provided by the applicant is correct and that the scholarship amount will be refunded if any false information is discovered at any stage of the application process, is required.
• Aadhaar card
• A passport size photo of the applicant is required
• The candidate's signature is required.
