St. Lawrence College admissions for Indian students run on Ontario’s college-application system, with rolling assessment after each stage and a hard floor of Class XII at 50 to 55% for diplomas and a completed Bachelor’s degree for graduate certificates.

  • Fall 2027 (primary intake) equal consideration date is 1 February 2027 on OCAS IAS.
  • Base tuition sits between CAD 17,427 and CAD 26,297 (INR 11.82 to 17.83 Lakhs) a year, plus a one-time application fee of CAD 100 (INR 6,780).
  • UG needs Class XII at 50%+ with IELTS 6.0; graduate certificates need a Bachelor’s with IELTS 6.5 and no band under 6.0.
  • Estimated acceptance rate hovers near 58%, based on third-party enrolment data.

Business Analytics, Health Care Administration, and Interactive Marketing Communications are the graduate certificates Indian students pick most at St. Lawrence College, and student feedback flags the Kingston campus advising desk and the paired PGWP pathway as decision anchors.

Admission Status: Open. The OCAS International Application Service opened 26 September 2026 for the Fall 2027 intake, and the equal consideration date for high-demand programs is 1 February 2027. Pay the CAD 100 (INR 6,780) application fee via Flywire on OCAS IAS to lock your seat in the review queue.

St. Lawrence College Application Deadlines for Indian Students

St. Lawrence College uses the Ontario Colleges Application Service (OCAS), the province-wide platform every public Ontario college shares. Indian students file through the OCAS International Application Service (IAS), and the college assesses applications on a rolling basis until seats fill. Dates below are drawn from the St. Lawrence College international how-to-apply page.

Currency note: All INR figures in this article use CAD 1 = INR 67.80, the live rate on 29 September 2026. Live rates may vary, so confirm with your bank before remitting.

SLC’s primary intake for Indian students is Fall (September) — most diplomas, advanced diplomas, and graduate certificates open here.

Programs marked highly competitive (Practical Nursing, Paramedic, Early Childhood Education) stop taking files at the equal consideration date. Business, IT, and hospitality graduate certificates continue to review Indian applicants after 1 February 2027 until seats close.

Planning note: Winter 2027 closes on 1 October 2026 — that is a two-day window from today, so treat it as the fallback intake only if your study permit is already lodged.

St. Lawrence College Eligibility for Indian Students

Eligibility at SLC splits by credential type. Diplomas take a lower Class XII floor, while graduate certificates require a finished undergraduate degree. English proficiency thresholds also step up between the two levels. All figures below are pulled from the SLC proof of English proficiency page and the international admissions page.

  • Diploma or Advanced Diploma: Class XII (CBSE, ISC, or State Board) at 50 to 55%, with subjects matching the program (Mathematics or Science where listed).
  • Bachelor degree programs: Class XII at 65%+ overall, with the Ontario ENG4U English grade equivalent at 70% (Class XII English at 70%).
  • Graduate certificates: A completed three-year or four-year Bachelor’s degree; some programs require the degree in the related field (Health Care Administration, for example).

English test minimums are level-specific.

SLC IELTS Waiver for Indian Students

SLC waives the English test for Indian applicants in three routes:

  • Two years of full-time in-person study in an English-medium institution in a listed English-speaking country.
  • Completion of Canadian ENG4U or ENG4C at 70%+ (relevant for repeat applicants who studied Grade 12 in Canada).
  • Completion of an approved level of the SLC English Language Partner Program.

Duolingo, EIKEN, Michigan English Test, and Cambridge English Proficiency are not accepted from India, so plan for IELTS, TOEFL, CAEL, or PTE. CELPIP is also not accepted at SLC. There is no MOI (Medium of Instruction) letter waiver for Indian Class XII candidates.

St. Lawrence College Graduate Certificate Programs and English Scores

Graduate certificates run for one year (two semesters) or 11 months, sit at the Kingston campus for most streams, and require a completed Bachelor’s degree. The base tuition band is CAD 19,055 to CAD 22,613 (INR 12.92 to 15.33 Lakhs) for the full credential; see the course-wise fees breakdown for exact figures.

SLC pairs several graduate certificates back-to-back — for example, Business Analytics followed by Supply Chain Management — which stretches the total credential to two years and unlocks a longer Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) window.

Note: Program-specific entry requirements, fees, and intake availability may differ from the institution-wide minimums shown above. Always confirm on the official St. Lawrence College page for your chosen program before applying.

St. Lawrence College Diploma and Bachelor Programs

Diplomas run two years, advanced diplomas run three years, and the honours bachelor degrees run four years. Tuition sits between CAD 17,427 and CAD 26,297 (INR 11.82 to 17.83 Lakhs) a year at the base tuition rate. The Kingston campus carries the widest program list; Brockville leans into business and community services, while Cornwall runs nursing, culinary, and paramedic streams.

Practical Nursing (Diploma)2 yearsClass XII with Biology and Chemistry at 65%+IELTS 7.0

Practical Nursing takes the tightest IELTS band (7.0 with 6.5 in each section) because of clinical placement rules set by the College of Nurses of Ontario.

St. Lawrence College Application Process

SLC accepts every Indian file through OCAS IAS. There is no direct-to-college form. Once submitted, the international admissions team assesses within about six working days for complete applications.

  1. Create an account on the OCAS IAS portal, live for the Fall 2027 cycle since 26 September 2026. Use SLC’s college code SLAW when adding program choices.
  2. Select up to five program choices and upload passport, Class XII marksheet, Bachelor’s transcript where relevant, and IELTS or TOEFL score report.
  3. Pay the application fee of CAD 100 (around INR 6,780) via Flywire on the OCAS IAS portal.
  4. Submit and wait for the Letter of Acceptance (LOA). Assessment is on a rolling basis and averages under a week.
  5. Pay the first-year tuition deposit of CAD 2,350 (INR 1.59 Lakhs) using Flywire once the LOA lands.
  6. File the Canada study permit with IRCC, ideally four to six months before the September start.
  7. Upload the study permit approval back to the IAS portal to confirm enrolment.

Insider note: Do the LOA and permit steps in parallel where possible. Kingston’s rolling assessment means an Indian applicant who submits by mid-October often has an LOA in hand before the December 1 scholarship deadline.

St. Lawrence College Admission Decisions and LOA Timeline

The international admissions team returns decisions in about six working days once the OCAS file is complete. Conditional offers are common — SLC issues one when your Bachelor’s or Class XII final result is pending, then converts it to an unconditional LOA once you upload the final marksheet.

  • Offer type: Conditional LOA if any transcript or IELTS score is missing, unconditional once all documents are verified.
  • Deposit deadline: Stated in the LOA, usually 45 days to secure the seat.
  • Deferral: SLC allows one deferral to the next intake in the same academic year without reapplying, provided the deposit is paid.

St. Lawrence College Documents Required

OCAS IAS accepts uploads directly. Every document below is mandatory for Indian applicants unless flagged otherwise.

  • Passport bio-data page: valid at least six months past the intake start.
  • Class X and Class XII marksheets: original or certified, plus notarised English translation if in a regional language.
  • Bachelor’s degree transcript and provisional certificate: for graduate certificate applicants.
  • English test score report: IELTS, TOEFL, CAEL, or PTE, valid within two years of the intake start.
  • Statement of Purpose: one to two pages linking your degree, work experience, and program choice at SLC.
  • Resume or CV: mandatory for Health Care Administration and other work-experience programs.
  • Work experience letters: where the graduate certificate lists work in the field as a prerequisite.
  • Passport-size photograph: recent, white background.

St. Lawrence College Acceptance Rate for Indian Applicants

SLC does not publish an official institutional acceptance rate. The commonly cited estimate is around 58%, based on third-party enrolment data that compares OCAS applications with enrolled international headcount. Treat it as directional, not a hard threshold.

Programs that run competitive

Practical Nursing and Paramedic close at the equal consideration date and often admit under 30% of applicants after clinical seat caps kick in. Business Analytics and Health Care Administration hold high demand each Fall but keep intake wider because they are pure classroom cohorts.

What lifts an Indian file

An IELTS score at least 0.5 above the floor, Class XII or Bachelor’s marks 10 percentage points above the minimum, and a Statement of Purpose that names the target program by campus (Kingston vs Cornwall) all push conversion higher.

Insider note: The 58% figure is an aggregate. Graduate certificates like Supply Chain Management or Interactive Marketing sit meaningfully higher, while capped clinical programs sit lower. Read the number by credential, not by college.

Canada Student Visa Process for St. Lawrence College

Indian applicants file the Canada study permit through IRCC (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada) after receiving the SLC Letter of Acceptance. Ontario’s Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) is issued by SLC through the province’s allocation, and every application must include it. Budget for Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC) proof of CAD 20,635, an upfront tuition receipt, and biometrics in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Hyderabad, Jalandhar, or Pune. Apply four to six months before the September start.

Under the Student Direct Stream (SDS), file times run six to eight weeks for Indian applicants with the standard GIC and one-year tuition upfront. SLC is on the Ontario PGWP-eligible list, so most diploma, advanced diploma, and graduate certificate programs qualify for a Post-Graduation Work Permit of up to three years.

2026 update: SDS is running with tighter document review after the January 2024 cap changes. Keep the PAL, tuition receipt, and GIC certificate in one PDF bundle to avoid a returned file.

St. Lawrence College Admission Tips and Checklist

The following tips and steps are drawn from Indian-applicant patterns at SLC across recent intakes.

  • Request Bachelor’s transcripts eight weeks before deadline: Indian universities often take four to six weeks to issue sealed transcripts, and OCAS needs a scanned copy.
  • Book IELTS by October 2026: for a February equal consideration date, the score report needs to reach OCAS by mid-January 2027.
  • Apply by 1 December 2026: the SLC Academic Merit scholarship of up to CAD 4,000 (INR 2.71 Lakhs) is first-come first-served and cuts off then; see funding for Indian students.
  • Pair two graduate certificates: the paired PGWP route stretches your work permit and only needs one OCAS application.
  • Name the campus in your SOP: SLC assesses applications by campus intake capacity, so Kingston vs Cornwall matters.
  • Pay the deposit within 30 days: the LOA states a formal deadline, but Indian applicants who pay early secure PAL faster.
  • Lodge the study permit by April 2027: for Fall 2027, IRCC biometrics slots in Delhi and Mumbai fill quickly in May and June.

St. Lawrence College keeps a rolling, Class XII 50%+ floor for diplomas and a Bachelor’s + IELTS 6.5 floor for graduate certificates, and Indian files that land before December 2026 clear both the scholarship and the OCAS review queues in time for a smooth Fall 2027 start.

How many gap years are acceptable after 12th?
S

St. Lawrence College does not have a specific limit on the number of years of study gap that they accept for admission. If you have taken a significant gap in your education, be sure to provide a complete and honest academic history, including any gap years or periods of interruption. You may also be asked to provide a personal statement explaining why you chose to take a gap year and what you learned from the experience.
