Undergraduate Programs:

Pre-Professional Programs

20 pre-professional programs with partnership from University of Minnesota, University of Waterloo and other partner Universities are provided. Course duration range from 1 year to 3 years. Major courses includes, Engineering, Dentistry, Journalism, Law, Medicine, Pharmacy, Veterinary medicine etc.

Certificate Programs

Apart from regular degree courses, for enhancing skills and knowledge, students have the option to opt for certificate courses of 30 credit hours. Currently there are two courses, Certificate in Business Administration and Certificate in Justice System under Faculty of Arts. All certificate courses may be even used for a degree from BU later.

Eligibility criteria for all the courses is available at the official website of Brandon University. Students must check it before beginning with the following procedure. Application process may differ for few courses, but generally it is as follows:

  • Visit the website and go through the programs and list of courses available.
  • Choose the one to apply for.
  • Ensure your fulfillment of admission requirements
  • Once done, click on “Apply Now” tab.
  • Fill all the required details and proceed to fee payment.
  • Pay CAD138 (international applicant) or CAD 67.50 (domestic applicant), i.e. a non-refundable application fee.
  • In addition to application fee, a list of original documents, as mentioned on the website or enquired by admission office, should be sent to Admissions office in a sealed envelope.

Cost to Bear for your Course

BU with small classes and effectiveness in student-faculty interaction, is also one of the most affordable university of Canada and hence ensures no eligible candidate is left out from education because of affordability.

Tuition fees for different programs are as follows:

Undergraduate programs: Credit hours often is the criteria for the tuition fee of a course.

  • For domestic students, it varies between CAD 3,379 to CAD 3,590.
  • For International student’s fee is in the range of CAD 6,758 to CAD 7,181.

Graduation Programs:

  • For international as well as international, tuition fee is around CAD 5,400.

Note: Tuition fee can be changed by University without prior notice.

As the Website of Brandon University promotes “Residence for All”, it provides residence facility to all the students enrolled in regular courses or are enrolled in EAP (English for Academic Purposes) program.

There are three residence halls at Brandon University,

  1. McMaster hall (All gender)
  2. Flora Cowan (Female only)
  3. Darrach Hall (Male only)

Students can choose from regular activity floors, quiet floors and academic floors to live on as they please. There are more than 200 social events and recreational activities throughout the year in residence. All the residential students have facility of study rooms, television rooms, fitness rooms, etc.

Residential rates differ depending upon various criteria, and in addition to basic residence cost, meal cost, association fee and few more are charged.

Scholarships and Awards at BU

There are many scholarship and bursaries for applicants desirous of admission to Brandon University. Students may be eligible for the following:

For Entrance Scholarship- bursaries some conditions are to be fulfilled. These are:

  • A “gap year” is permitted provided, you do not pursue any post-secondary education during that time
  • Have a Grade 11 or Grade 12 scholarship average of at least 85%.
  • Proof of financial need.
  • Submit an online application and any required supporting documents in advance of the published deadline.
