Brandon University Eligibility for Indian Students

Brandon University sets academic thresholds by program and level, with English proficiency required for every applicant whose prior study was not in English. Institutional minimums below sit at the floor. Competitive programs like Nursing and Business ask for higher marks.

Brandon University Academic Requirements

• UG general entry: Class XII at 65 percent with subject prerequisites for Science, Nursing, and Music.
• UG Nursing: Class XII around 70 percent, with Biology, Chemistry, and English.
• UG Business Administration: Class XII around 70 percent, with Mathematics studied through Class XII.
• PG general entry: Bachelor’s degree with a minimum CGPA of 2.5 out of 4.3, roughly 60 percent in Indian terms.
• PG Music and Psychiatric Nursing: discipline-specific undergraduate credential such as a BMus or a Bachelor of Nursing with active RPN registration.

What English Tests Does Brandon University Accept?

Brandon University IELTS Waiver for Indian Students

Brandon University waives the English test in two situations relevant to Indian applicants. Both apply automatically once you upload the supporting document with your application.

• Three years of full-time post-secondary study in English with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.
• An accredited undergraduate degree completed in English-medium instruction with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.

The waiver requires proof of English medium on the transcript or an official medium-of-instruction letter from the awarding institution, on institutional letterhead.

Brandon University PG Programs and English Scores

Brandon University offers six graduate programs across humanities, sciences, education, music, and nursing. Base tuition for master’s programs is billed on a per-course-hour model and confirmed at registration. There is no MBA and no doctoral program at Brandon.

Brandon University Undergraduate Programs and Tuition

Brandon University offers eight undergraduate degrees across arts, science, business, fine arts, music, education, nursing, and physical education. Base tuition ranges from CAD 16,855 (INR 11.18 Lakhs) for Arts to CAD 18,648 (INR 12.36 Lakhs) for Health Studies per full academic year of 30 credit hours. Planning note: The Bachelor of Nursing has limited international seats and reviews applications on rolling basis from February. Indian applicants should complete the nursing supplementary application well before the April deadline for a realistic seat shot.

Brandon University Application Process

Brandon University uses its own BU Online Application portal for all international admissions. There is no central Canadian or Manitoba-wide platform. The steps below apply to both undergraduate and graduate applicants.

1. Create an account on the BU Online Application portal and select your program and intake.
2. Pay the non-refundable application fee of CAD 140 (INR 9,282) by credit card on the portal during submission.
3. Upload Class XII or Bachelor’s transcripts, degree certificates, and prerequisite subject records in PDF form.
4. Upload your English test score (IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, Duolingo, Cambridge, or CAEL) or the medium-of-instruction waiver letter.
5. Submit the Statement of Purpose, two letters of recommendation, and an updated CV where required by the program.
6. For Music applicants, record and upload the audition video through the Faculty of Music portal.
7. Track the application through the applicant self-service dashboard until the admission decision is issued.

Insider note: Brandon reviews applications on rolling basis within the fixed deadline. Submitting by February for the Fall cycle gives you the strongest scholarship consideration and the earliest offer for study permit filing.

Brandon University Admission Decisions and Offer Timeline

Brandon University issues admission decisions on rolling basis, typically within four to eight weeks of a complete application reaching the international office. Nursing and Music decisions take longer because of interview or audition stages.

• Conditional offer: issued when transcripts are pending or an English test result is expected soon.
• Unconditional offer: issued when all documents including English proof are on file.
• Confirmation deposit: CAD 5,000 (INR 3.32 Lakhs) for UG and CAD 2,500 (INR 1.66 Lakhs) for PG within four weeks of the offer.
• Deferral: permitted for one term to Winter or the next Fall with a written request and deposit carry-forward.
• Provincial Attestation Letter: issued after the deposit clears, mandatory for the Canada study permit.

Once the deposit clears, the international admissions office emails the Letter of Acceptance along with the PAL and receipt. Both are mandatory for the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) study permit filing.
