Red River College Polytechnic Application Deadlines
Red River College Polytechnic runs a rolling, first-qualified-first-served admissions cycle for Indian applicants, with no fixed cutoff date. The institution recommends applying at least six months before the intended start term, per the official RRC Polytech international applicants page. Programs move from Open to Waitlist to Closed as seats fill.
RRC Polytech’s primary intake for Indian students is Fall (September), where most programs open.
| Intake | Level | App Opens | Recommended Apply By | App Fee | Portal |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Winter 2027 (4 January 2027 start) | Diploma, PG Diploma, Bachelor | Rolling | By 4 July 2026 (Closing Soon) | CAD 155 (INR 10,622) | apply.rrc.ca |
| Spring 2027 (May 2027 start) | Selected Diplomas, PG Diplomas | Rolling | By 1 November 2026 | CAD 155 (INR 10,622) | apply.rrc.ca |
| Fall 2027 (1 September 2027 start) — Primary intake | All levels: Certificate, Diploma, PG Diploma, Bachelor | Rolling | By 1 March 2027 | CAD 155 (INR 10,622) | apply.rrc.ca |
Applications for Winter 2027 remain technically open but are Closing Soon, since the recommended 6-month lead has already passed as of today. Indian applicants planning for Fall 2027 should file by early March 2027 to leave enough runway for offer, deposit, Provincial Attestation Letter, and study permit.
Planning note: RRC Polytech uses first-qualified-first-served, so submitting a complete file early beats waiting for a nominal deadline. Popular programs like Business Administration, Cybersecurity, and Information Security often close months before the 6-month lead expires.
Red River College Polytechnic Eligibility for Indian Students
Eligibility at Red River College Polytechnic is set at two levels: academic thresholds tied to your Indian credential and an English proficiency floor. Both are verified against your official transcripts and test score report at document check.

If your test scores fall short, RRC Polytech’s Intensive English for International Students program provides a pathway to meet the requirement before entering your academic term.

Red River College Polytechnic Application Process for Indian Students
The RRC Polytech application flow is a single online submission through the college’s own portal, followed by document upload and a deposit trigger once you receive an Offer Email. There is no central Canadian application platform for Manitoba polytechnics.
- Create an account and file the application on the apply.rrc.ca portal, selecting your program, campus, and intake term.
- Pay the application fee of CAD 155 (around INR 10,622) at submission, non-refundable, via credit card on the portal.
- Submit required documents within 15 days of application submission, per RRC Polytech policy.
- Wait for the eligibility review. The Admissions team confirms academic and English scores before moving your file to a decision.
- Receive Offer Email if qualified, subject to seat availability in your chosen program.
- Pay the non-refundable tuition deposit within 14 days of the Offer Email to secure your seat.
- Receive Letter of Acceptance (LOA) and Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL), both required for the study permit application.
- Apply for the Canadian study permit through IRCC before your program start date.
Payments from outside Canada are routed through PayMyTuition, RRC Polytech’s preferred remittance channel for international applicants. Credit card payments through the college’s Self-Serve portal carry a 1.8% surcharge and are usually used only for the deposit or top-up payments.
Red River College Polytechnic Admission Decisions
Because RRC Polytech works on rolling first-qualified-first-served admissions, decisions are issued through Offer Emails as complete files are reviewed. There is no single results day.
- Offer Email timeline: issued once academic and English documents are verified and seats remain in the requested program.
- Deposit deadline: the non-refundable tuition deposit is due within 14 days of the Offer Email, otherwise the seat is released.
- Letter of Acceptance (LOA): issued once the deposit is paid, then used to trigger the Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) issued by Manitoba.
- Deferral: if you cannot start on the offered term, request a deferral to a later intake in the same program, subject to seat availability.
- Study permit upload: the approved study permit must be uploaded to the student portal at least 60 days before the program start date.
Insider note: If a program moves to Waitlist between your application and decision, RRC Polytech will hold your file for the next available intake rather than reject outright. Confirm this by email with intled@rrc.ca so your paid application fee is preserved.
Documents Required for Red River College Polytechnic
All admission documents must be uploaded within 15 days of submitting your online application. Late or missing documents freeze the file until they are supplied.
- Official Class XII marksheet and graduation certificate.
- Post-secondary transcripts and degree certificates for PG applicants, showing the full grade breakdown.
- English language test score report (IELTS, TOEFL iBT, PTE, Duolingo, or CAEL), taken within the last 2 years.
- Valid Indian passport, showing photo and biographic pages.
- Program-specific documents where required, for example a design portfolio for Communication Design, resume for MBA-adjacent business PG diplomas, or volunteer hours evidence for health credentials.
- Proof of name change, if any of your academic documents carry a different name.
- Passport-size photograph as specified on the application portal.
All non-English documents must be submitted in the original language along with a certified English translation. Photocopies of academic documents must be attested where the portal calls for notarised copies.
Red River College Polytechnic Acceptance Rate for Indian Students
Red River College Polytechnic does not publish an official institutional acceptance rate. Third-party trackers place the acceptance rate at around 89%, based on the college’s first-qualified-first-served admissions structure and its openness to international diploma applicants.
What drives RRC Polytech’s admit rate
Because RRC Polytech admits any applicant who meets the stated academic and English floor and has a seat available in the chosen program, the effective rate is closer to a seat-availability curve than a competitive selectivity filter. This is common for Canadian polytechnic institutions and differs from selective universities like the University of Manitoba comparison shows.
What actually raises your chance of an offer
- Applying at least 6 to 8 months before intended start term, before the program moves to Waitlist.
- Submitting a complete document set within the 15-day window, no missing transcripts.
- Meeting or exceeding the program-specific English floor, not just the institutional 6.0 baseline.
- Choosing a program with lower seat pressure, for example Engineering and Construction Technologies over Information Security.
Canada Student Visa Process for Red River College Polytechnic
Once your Letter of Acceptance and Provincial Attestation Letter are in hand, apply for the Canada Study Permit through Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Indian applicants file online through the IRCC portal, upload biometrics at a VFS Global centre, and typically receive a decision within 8 to 12 weeks under the Student Direct Stream (SDS) for eligible files.
Financial proof is the most common bottleneck. IRCC requires evidence of first-year tuition paid or held, plus a Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC) of CAD 20,635 (around INR 14.14 Lakhs) with a Canadian bank as of the current SDS threshold. Manitoba students also register for Manitoba International Student Health Insurance Plan (MISHIP) coverage on arrival, arranged through RRC Polytech.
2026 update: Canada tightened its provincial cap on international study permits from 2024, and Manitoba’s Provincial Attestation Letter is now mandatory before the study permit application. Do not file the IRCC application without the PAL, since the file will be returned incomplete.
Tips and Checklist for Red River College Polytechnic Admissions
The following tips and steps are drawn from Indian-applicant patterns at Red River College Polytechnic, and cover the sequencing gaps between offer, deposit, PAL, and study permit that trip up first-time applicants.
- Book IELTS or PTE 10 to 12 weeks before you apply, so the score report is in hand at document submission.
- Order official transcripts 8 weeks before deadline from your Indian school or university registrar, since courier lead times to Winnipeg run 3 to 4 weeks.
- Apply through apply.rrc.ca 6 to 8 months before your target start date to beat Waitlist status on Cybersecurity and Information Security.
- Keep CAD 155 (around INR 10,622) ready on a credit card at application submission, the fee is non-refundable.
- Ring-fence the tuition deposit, since it is due within 14 days of your Offer Email or the seat is released.
- Open a Canadian GIC of CAD 20,635 (around INR 14.14 Lakhs) as soon as your LOA lands, since GIC processing takes 7 to 10 business days.
- File the study permit within 2 weeks of receiving the PAL, since IRCC SDS decisions run 8 to 12 weeks.
- Upload your approved study permit to the student portal 60 days before start, per RRC Polytech’s pre-arrival policy.
- Check RRC Polytech student reviews from past Indian batches for program-level insight before finalising your choice.
Planning note: Winter and Fall are the two intakes with broadest program coverage at RRC Polytech. Do not chase the Spring intake for a bachelor’s degree, since most 4-year credentials open only in Fall.
Red River College Polytechnic’s rolling, seat-first admissions favour early, complete files over polished but late applications. Aim to submit by the recommended 6-month lead, keep the deposit and GIC funds liquid, and treat the PAL and study permit steps as sequential rather than parallel to avoid application returns from IRCC.
