Memorial University of Newfoundland Admission Deadlines

International applications are not accepted after June for fall semester. They are suggested to apply 12 weeks before the start of the intended semester. International applicants cannot apply for winter/spring semesters. The application deadlines for domestic applicants are as follows:

Visa Process for International Students

  • The international students traveling to Canada are required either a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) or Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA). The individuals have to make an online application to receive the eTA prior to boarding coming to Canada.
  • Study Permit: Requirements for a study permit are as follows:
    • A valid passport
    • Application fee ( billed in CND)
    • Evidence of sufficient funds
    • Medical examination
    • Biometrics
  • Temporary Visa Permit: The requirements for a temporary residence visa are as follows:
    • Valid passport
    • Specified application fee (billed in CND)
    • The offer of admission received from Lakehead University.
    • Evidence of sufficient funds
    • Medical exam

Applicants can check their admissions status at online application portal or at MUN Self Service. Applications for the fall semester are processed after October 30. A minimum of three days is required for processing applications. Supporting documents should be received by the university within 5-10 business days.

Application decisions are made within 5-10 days after the complete application package is received by the university. International applicants fulfilling the entrance scholarship criteria are considered for non-renewable entrance scholarships.
