The Coast Mountain College was previously known as Northwest Community College (NWCC) and is also an accredited post-secondary institution that serves the diverse and rich communities. It was established in the year 1975 in Terrace.

The college has expanded to six regional campuses that serve 34 communities. It provides students with programs that lead to sustainable careers for people in the north.

  • The Coast Mountain College accepts only online applications
  • After applying, the applicant has to submit the transcripts and documents through any of the following options.
    • email the copies of your transcripts and documents to ‘’

    • Mail to CMTN Admissions, 5331 McConnell Avenue, Terrace, BC, V8G 4X2.
  • For the international applicant, it is necessary to submit English Language proficiency
  • It is recommended to submit unofficial copies by email to get the application process started.
  • After receiving the application for admission, the college emails an acknowledgment letter.
  • Keep checking myCTMN to see if he/she has been accepted into the program of application.
  • If accepted, the candidate has to pay a $100 non-refundable deposit that will act as a commitment fee.
  • After receiving the acceptance letter the applicant needs to complete the study permit application with the government of Canada.
  • The intake seasons for the majority of the programs are January & September.

Coast Mountain College Admission Deadlines

There is no set deadline to apply for the courses. However, students can start with the application process 12 months prior to the program start date.

Coast Mountain College Undergraduate Admissions

The admission requirements are specific and different to individual programs and these requirements must be met before you get admitted.

Academic Requirements: Official transcripts from high school or post-secondary and official copies of the citizenship information to CMTN, if the applicant has received permanent residents status.

Visa Process for International Students

Depending on your country of origin, student visa processing can take as little as a few weeks or as long as many months. The applicant can go to Canada through visa or Electronic Travel Authorization.

Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA)

  • Get the passport, debit card or credit, and read the application help document, which is available in several languages.

  • Pay $7 CAD for the eTA right after the completion of filling the form.
  • Get an email about the application.
  • Most applicants get their eTA approval within minutes and some of them take several days.
  • After it gets approved, check whether the passport number is correct.
  • After the approval of the eTA, it will be linked to the passport that has been used to apply.

Study Permit

  • Documents required:
    • Acceptance letter from a designated learning institution
    • Valid passport or travel document
    • Proof you can support yourself, and any family members who come with an applicant, while he/she is in Canada.
  • Apply for a study permit from Canada. The application gets processed immediately.
  • It makes sure that the application is complete before submitting it.
  • The applicants can quickly submit more documents online.

Coast Mountain College Graduate Admissions

Students interested to apply for graduate courses at the Coast Mountain College need to follow this basic application process:

  • Login to myCMTN and select Apply to Graduate.
  • Complete filling the online form and pay an application fee of 100 CAD.
  • The students have to submit the official transcripts of the previous college or university attended.
  • The GPA scorecard is to be submitted.
  • The rest of the procedure is the same as undergraduate admissions.
