Sault College Admission Deadlines

Sault College follows a strict deadline. Applications for the Fall term on the OCAS portal will automatically get reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis if submitted after the prescribed deadline. To get the application considered on an equal basis, applicants should avoid submitting applications after the deadline. International applicants are advised to not wait for the stated deadlines and apply well before the planned date due to the lengthy visa process.

Sault College Diploma/Certificate Admission

Sault College offers over 35 undergraduate diplomas and certificate courses to all international students. Areas of study available are Media, Health Sciences, Engineering Technology, Business, Aviation and Media. The college has certain additional requirements for international students as compared to the native Canadian students. Sault College requires the minimum age of the students seeking admission to be 17 years.

Admission Requirements for International Students

  • Diploma equivalent to Ontario Secondary School Diploma;
  • Other college/university study completion transcripts( if required)
  • Proof of English Language Proficiency (minimum IELTS score 6 with no band below 5.5);
  • Grade 11/12 Biology/Physics/Chemistry (where required);
  • Grade 11/12 Maths (if applicable)
  • CV is required if there is a gap between last studies and the application to Sault College
  • Scanned copy of Passport

English Language Proficiency Test Scores Requirements

All international applicants are required to submit proof of their English language proficiency as it is a necessary admission requirement.

Students can prove their English language efficiency by submitting any one of the following proficiency test scores:

Visa Process for International students

Sault College issues letter of acceptance after the selection of an applicant. All international applicants should receive the acceptance letter in order to apply for a study permit to Canada.

It is important to note that the duration of acquiring the permit can range from three to nine months for all international applicants.

Students are advised to apply for the study permit as soon as they receive the acceptance letter.

Applying for a study permit through the online portal of Citizenship and Immigration Canada is considered the easiest and quickest way.

To make the application process swift, the student must keep the following documents ready with them while applying:

  • Acceptance letter from the university;
  • Proof of Identity/Passport;
  • Biometrics fee;
  • Proof of Financial Support stating available minimum funds to support the education and stay in Canada;
  • Letter of Explanation(if necessary);
  • Custodian declaration for minors below 18 years of age;

Students can be asked to give an interview in the nearest embassy, consulate or Visa Application Centre.

Sault College Graduate Admissions

Sault College offers 11 Post-Graduate certificate courses to all international applicants. The duration of all programs is One year.

Students are required to submit a portfolio/CV if there is a gap of 5-10 years between education and the time of submission of application to Sault College.

Sault College offers conditional admission to students studying at a secondary school while applying to the college on the basis of their mid-term grades.
