Program Description

  • The University of Regina offers MEng in Industrial Systems Engineering with a duration of 2 years (4 terms) program.
  • This program is offered on a full-time basis.
  • This program contains two options: co-op, or project option.
  • The program requires 30 credits for the completion including the project, but its co-op option requires 42 credits for the completion.
  • The MEng in Industrial Systems Engineering focuses on the following areas of research:
    • Mechanical Behaviour of Materials 
    • Material Deformation Processes
    •  Foundations of Solid Mechanics 
    • Metallurgy of Welding 
    • System Analysis and Synthesis
  • The Master of Engineering degree program with a project report attracts practicing engineers.
  • Students are enrolled in a Co-op route in their program of study and receive a letter from the Co-op office.
  • The major areas of specialization are in manufacturing, control, process engineering, and energy systems. Activities include CAE, Facilities design, Quality control, Performance evaluation of manufacturing systems and many more.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

  • Students have a graduating average of at least 70 percent from a four-year bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.
  • GPA of at least 3.0/4.0 (B grade).
  • Students must be qualified in IELTS or TOEFL and GRE to get admission in this program.

Indian Student Eligibility

Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:

  • Students have to complete a four-year undergraduate degree in a relevant field.
  • Students with a marginally lower four-year average may be accepted if their performance in the last two complete years is significantly higher (75% or more).
  • Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test.

VISA & Work Study

VISA

  • International Students will need to apply for a valid Student VISA before entering Canada.
  • A student visa is an immigration document that allows students to live and study in Canada.
  • The student must have a student visa to enroll in any degree, program, or course that takes more than 6 months to complete.
  • Whether students also need an Entry Visa depends on their country of citizenship.
  • The Temporary Resident Visa (Entry Visa) is a stamp placed on their passport that allows them to enter Canada.
  • In most cases, students Entry Visa will have the same expiry date as their Student VISA.
  • A student VISA is usually valid for the length of the student’s study program, plus an extra 90 days.
