Royal Roads University Application Deadlines for Indian Students
Royal Roads University operates rolling cohort admissions rather than fixed round deadlines, which means each program publishes its own cohort start date and the application closes 8 to 12 weeks before that start. Indian applicants should back-plan around study permit processing when choosing a cohort.
Royal Roads University’s primary intake for Indian students is September (Fall), where most undergraduate and master’s programs open. The table below reflects cohort pattern dates per the official RRU program schedule pages.
| Intake | Level | App Opens | Deadline | App Fee | Portal |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Primary intake: September 2027 (Fall) | UG and PG | Open now | June 2027 (rolling) | CAD 139 (₹8,410) | MyAdmin |
| January 2027 (Winter) | MBA and select PG | Closed | October 2026 (Closed) | CAD 139 (₹8,410) | MyAdmin |
| May 2027 (Spring) | MBA and select PG | Open now | April 2027 | CAD 139 (₹8,410) | MyAdmin |
| January 2028 (Winter) | Doctor of Social Sciences | Open now | October 2027 | CAD 139 (₹8,410) | MyAdmin |
Rolling admission means decisions are issued continuously as applications arrive, so an early file improves cohort placement and gives more runway for the Canada study permit.
Planning note: Target an application 10 to 12 weeks before your chosen cohort start so study permit processing from India (typically 8 to 10 weeks) does not push your arrival past orientation.
Royal Roads University Eligibility Requirements for Indian Students
Eligibility at Royal Roads University is split by level, with each program publishing its own academic floor on top of the institution-wide minimum. Indian academic grades map to the Canadian GPA scale used by RRU, and English proof is required unless a waiver is granted.

English test results stay valid for two years from the test date, so Indian applicants should time retakes accordingly if their score is near expiry at the point of admission.
Royal Roads University IELTS Waiver for Indian Students
Indian applicants may apply for an English language proficiency exemption by submitting a written request with supporting documentation. The university considers three consecutive years of full-time secondary education in an English-medium school with a B grade (73%) or better in English 12 or equivalent, or AP English with a grade of 4 or better. Indian Class XII students from CBSE, ICSE, or State Board English-medium schools can submit transcripts showing an English grade of 73%+ to request the waiver. An exemption is not guaranteed and, when granted, applies only to the program it was assessed for.
Note: Program-specific entry requirements may differ from the institution-wide minimums shown above. Always confirm on the official Royal Roads University program page for your chosen program before applying.

Royal Roads University Application Process for Indian Students
The application process runs entirely online through the Royal Roads MyAdmin portal, with no agent dependency required for Indian applicants.
- Select program and cohort: Confirm the start month (January, May, September) on the program schedule page.
- Create MyAdmin account: Register at the Royal Roads MyAdmin portal using a working email ID.
- Upload transcripts and documents: Scanned Class XII, Bachelor’s, Master’s transcripts and consolidated mark sheets.
- Submit statement of intent and resume: One to two pages explaining fit; detailed CV with dated roles.
- Upload English proof or waiver request: IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, or Duolingo scorecard; or waiver letter with English-medium school transcripts.
- Pay the application fee of CAD 139 (around ₹9,430) on the MyAdmin application portal by card.
- Submit two letters of reference: Academic or professional, sent directly by referees via email.
- Track application: Monitor MyAdmin for conditional offer, interview call, or document request.
Royal Roads University Admission Decisions for Indian Students
Decisions roll out continuously as applications are reviewed, with Indian applicants typically hearing back in 4 to 8 weeks. International application review time has stretched during peak Fall intake, so a late-June application for September may run tight.
- Conditional offer: Issued when transcripts or English scores are pending; conditions must be cleared at least 5 business days before program start
- Unconditional offer: Issued when the file is complete and meets requirements
- Acceptance deadline: Typically 4 weeks from offer date, with a CAD 5,000 (₹3.03 Lakhs) tuition deposit required
- Deferral: Permitted up to one cohort cycle with written request and justification
- Appeal process: Formal admission appeal available within 30 days of a rejection decision
Missing a condition deadline typically leads to automatic deferral to the next cohort rather than cancellation, which gives Indian applicants a safety net if study permits run late.
Royal Roads University Documents Required for Indian Students
Indian applicants submit a specific document bundle covering identity, academic history, English proof, and professional background. The checklist below reflects what the MyAdmin portal expects at submission.
- Passport bio-page scan valid for the full duration of the program plus 6 months
- Certified transcripts for Class X, Class XII, Bachelor’s, and Master’s where applicable
- Degree certificates and consolidated mark sheets from each completed qualification
- English-medium instruction letter on school letterhead if claiming the waiver

- Detailed resume with dated roles, listed references

- Work experience letters for MBA, DSocSci, and leadership programs
- Financial proof for study permit, after offer is issued
Royal Roads University Acceptance Rate for Indian Students
Royal Roads University publishes no official institutional acceptance rate, but third-party estimates place it at around 70%, placing it in the mildly selective bracket. The university operates an access oriented admit profile, admitting most applicants who meet the stated academic, English, and work-experience floors.
Why Royal Roads Admits Most Qualified Applicants
The admit philosophy prioritises cohort fit over gatekeeping because programs run as fixed cohorts with limited seats. Admission is competitive within a cohort rather than against the broader applicant pool, so meeting the floor plus a strong statement of intent typically clears the bar.
Where Indian Applicants Get Rejected
Rejections cluster around three gaps: insufficient work experience for the MBA or DSocSci, English scores below the floor without a waiver, and generic statements of intent that do not tie to Royal Roads’ applied learning model. Addressing all three before submission raises the hit rate materially.
Insider note: Indian MBA applicants with 5+ years of post-degree experience and a specific research or capstone idea aligned to the program’s leadership focus clear the bar comfortably.
Canada Student Visa for Royal Roads University
Indian students need a Canadian Study Permit to enrol at Royal Roads, applied through the IRCC portal after receiving the Letter of Acceptance. The study permit covers your stay in Canada, and a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) or eTA is issued alongside it for entry.
Required for the application: Letter of Acceptance from Royal Roads, Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) issued by British Columbia, Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC) of CAD 20,635 (₹12.48 Lakhs), proof of first-year tuition payment, biometrics appointment, and medical examination. Processing from India typically takes 8 to 10 weeks, so apply as soon as the offer and PAL are in hand.
2026 update: IRCC’s international student cap is in effect, and British Columbia’s PAL quota applies to Royal Roads intake. Apply within 48 hours of receiving the PAL from Royal Roads to secure the processing window.

- Because of the course arrangement, I was doing my regular BMS( Bachelors in Management Studies) when I came across this opportunity in year 2, they gave an option to have transfer courses so I took it, then my degree got transferred form BMS to BBA and I completed my 3rd and 4th year in Canada.
- So, Royal Roads gave me quite a bit of experience. It was definitely a bumpy ride because Victoria is a small town, but of course, the prettiest one. My initial few days were not so well. I was getting adjusted and our campus is extremely beautiful but very spread out and huge. This made things pretty confusing. But if you like peacocks, ducks, and a big lake with an amazing castle view, then you are at the right place.
- Now, enough of the environment. Let's get real and talk about the courses... Well, they are debatable. Remember, this is just my side of the story though. After graduating, I was jobless for a long time. At first, I thought I was the problem, then I blamed the course/my degree, and finally, I realized that according to my aims/goals, I am in the wrong location. I have to be around industries where there may be competition but at the same time growth opportunities. After shifting to the city (Toronto), I realized the competition is way too high. So, I had to take some extra certifications and finally landed a good job.
Dislikes
- Probably the lack of industries can be quite a challenging part, but my suggestion would be to start early, as in a year before graduation, make sure to apply for internships in firms, do some volunteer work, and apply your education to something practical. This way, you will understand what you are studying and eventually choose a field that is best for you and society.
Overview
It was a bittersweet experience due to the strict rules and high level of rigor compared to other universities. Despite pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), the courses often felt more akin to an MBA program. The university emphasized pragmatism and enforced strict adherence to it. However, aside from these challenging moments, everything else about the experience was sweet. The knowledge gained, the outcomes achieved, the supportive community, the people of Victoria, the campus environment – all contributed to a memorable and enriching journey.
Likes
- The program is very future oriented and focuses on the demands of tomorrow. It is made to prepare you ahead of time.
- Very open minded approach to a bachelors degree. Hands on experience, no exams rather a client-oriented report. Quite demanding but a worthy experience. Plenty of volunteer experience available if you are proactive.
- The gym facility is top of line everything you need is there. The food is so-so. Could do better but still a good option nonetheless. There’s places where you connect with nature. A lagoon in-house. Beautiful sunsets and lots of culture. It is built on the lands of Xyspuem and Lekwagaon lands. (Sorry if I butchered the spelling) much love! It is an experience that’s what I can say.
Dislikes
- The location is a bit odd and far. Away from city but very pretty as well. Blessing and a curse.
Overview
It is quite an experience, you have to be prepared at all times. It tries you mentally and physically. There is an excitement. You need to feel it to understand I think.

- It was a credit transfer program for us through Vidyalankar University in Mumbai where we did 2 years and then rest 2 were done from RRU
- The location and the campus has many resources for students. There are only few courses that actually help you gain knowledge and will help in your career. Few instructors are really knowledgable and fun to interact with.
Dislikes
- This university is a B grade university whom no one in Victoria knows let alone Canada. The program heads are usually very strict and personally I felt are racist. My whole batch had 16 Indians 7 Chinese and 12 Canadians surprisingly onlt the canadians used to score 90 or above and rest all scored below 85 and this went on for 2 years. There was no action taken when we wrote to the instructors. Apart from the MGM program no program is recognized or have any value. Please choose UVIC or Camosen college if coming to Victoria.
Overview
The college just helped me enter Canada and also enjoyed the city Victoria which is very beautiful apart from that everything is poor.

The program was interdisciplinary and applied. In addition, it was designed for working professionals and delivered distanced (for the full program or majority of it) so students could work and didn't have to stay in Victoria throughout their study period.
