Question 1

Is NEET UG mandatory for AFMC Pune MBBS admission?

Accepted Answer

Yes. NEET UG is mandatory for AFMC Pune MBBS admission. A minimum 50th percentile (40th for SC/ST) is required to register for AFMC screening. AFMC does not accept any other exam or offer direct admission.

Question 2

What NEET score do I need for AFMC Pune MBBS?

Accepted Answer

Based on the 2025 AFMC merit list, boys typically needed above 600 marks and girls above 620 marks (out of 720) in NEET to make the shortlist for AFMC screening. Final admission depends on the composite score out of 250, which includes ToELR (80 marks) and interview (50 marks). A very high NEET score reduces pressure on the interview stage.

Question 3

How does the AFMC selection process work after NEET?

Accepted Answer

AFMC shortlists around 2,000 candidates from the NEET merit list (1,600 boys and 400 girls). Shortlisted candidates attend screening at AFMC Pune, covering ToELR (40-MCQ CBT, 30 minutes, 80 marks), a Psychological Assessment Test (qualifying only), a personal interview (50 marks), and a medical examination. The final merit score is out of 250 marks.

Question 4

What is the AFMC service bond for MBBS?

Accepted Answer

All AFMC MBBS graduates must serve 7 years as commissioned officers in the Armed Forces Medical Services. As of 2026, the bond amount was INR 71lakh (revised each year - confirm thefigure at afmc.nic.in). The bond activates if a cadet withdraws after 7 days of joining or does not complete the 7-year service. Candidates declared medically unfit pay INR 28,166 per week in training costs from the NSL declaration date, not the full bond.

Question 5

How many MBBS seats does AFMC Pune offer?

Accepted Answer

Question 6

Is there a management quota or direct admission at AFMC Pune?

Question 9

What is the eligibility for AFMC Pune MD/MS admission?

Accepted Answer

Civilian candidates (Priority-V) need an NMC-recognised MBBS degree with completed internship, a valid NEET PG 2026 score (minimum 50th percentile), and must be under 30 years of age at admission. They must complete the PG degree before age 35 and commit to 5 years of AFMS service under a bond of INR 54 lakh to INR 60 lakh. Counselling is through MCC at mcc.nic.in.
